10 BOWLERS ADVANCE TO LPBT FINALS

Sharon Todd averaged 212 per game to lead the second annual Viking Lanes Ladies Pro Bowlers Tour tournament on Saturday after 10 games of qualifying.

The Ashland, Ky., native bowled a tournament-high 279 and never fell below a 200 average in her final five games. Paula Cinellie of Pasadena, Md., averaged 211 and was the only other bowler to average better than 200 for the day.

The top 10 bowlers return to Viking Lanes at 9 a.m. today for 10 games of head-to-head match play.

The winner will be determined by total pinfall plus bonus pins for 20 games. The champion will receive $1,500. Roanoke's Dawn DeLong was 31st with a 170 average.

Elaine Lynch of Roanoke won the top prize of $300 in the Friday night Pro-Am with a score of 1,531. Other Pro-Am winners and their prize money earned were Connie Simonsen, $200; Maggie Stevens, $140; Harold Stultz and Andy Anderson, $100 each; Bob DiDomenico, $75; and Carol Skanhek $52.

Shannon Smith was the winner in the youth Pro-Am competition.
