NAMES ON CAMPUS

JANE YOUNG of Blacksburg received the Outstanding Student Award in Mechanical Engineering Technology during Penn State Harrisburg's recent awards convocation. She was cited for her outstanding academic achievement and service to the University's Mechanical Engineering Technology Department.

STACY ANNE SNYDER of Blacksburg recently graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., with a bachelor of fine arts in ceramics and photography. She is the daughter of Georgia Anne Snyder-Falkinham and Joe Falkinham, and the late Peter C. Snyder.

The following students recently graduated from National Business College in Roanoke: CATHY EVANS CARTER, RICHARD NEESE, TRACI BISHOP, REBECCA BRAMMER, LAURIE CONNER, DEBORA DAVIS, MICHELLE GATES, PHILLIP MARTIN, ANNETTE ASBURY, DONNA ATKINSON, BARBARA COVEY, LISA CRIGGER, MISTIE MONTGOMERY, DELORES SLOSS, TRACY SWEENEY, ANGELA TALLANT and MARIE DOW.

KATHY WALTERS, a junior travel industry management major at Concord College in Athens, W.Va., has been chosen to represent students nationwide on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Campus Activities. Walters is the daughter of Judy and "Buddy" Walters of Wytheville.

Three area residents, NATHAN DROWNE of Blacksburg, MEGAN RENCSOK of Shawsville and CHRISTINA WORKMAN of Christiansburg are among the 176 members of the graduating class of 1994 at Emory & Henry College. Drowne, the son of Lee H. Drowne, was a physical education major. Rencsok graduated with a degree in mass communications and is the daughter of Diane and Charles Rencsok. Workman majored in history and plans to teach. She is the daughter of Judy and Roy Workman. Rencsok and Workman also were chosen to be listed in the 1994 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges."

JOCELINE MASRI, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Masri of Pearisburg, was named to the 1994 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges." She is a senior at Hollins College in Roanoke. Masri also was awarded the Mae Shelton Boger Award at a recent honors convocation. The award is presented annually to an outstanding student of French.

The Luther College chapter of Phi Beta Kappa recently inducted BOREAS YUMING FAN of Blacksburg. The college is located in Decorah, Iowa. Fan majored in biology and chemistry.

The following students have been named to the dean's list for the 1994 winter quarter at Dominion Business School in Roanoke: LISA CLARK of Blacksburg and KIMBERLY CLINE of Christiansburg. ANGELA ADKINS of Christiansburg had perfect attendance.

The Scott and Stringfellow Educational Foundation announced that KIMBERLY YOUNG of Christiansburg has been awarded an academic scholarship for the 1994-1995 academic year. She is a rising senior majoring in psychology at Mary Baldwin College.

Mary Washington College junior HEATHER MULLINS of Blacksburg was elected president of the college's Student Association in schoolwide elections held last month. She is the daughter of Don and June Mullins and a 1991 graduate of Blacksburg High School.
