9-GAME SEASON FOR W&L IN FALL

In Lexington, Washington and Lee announced its nine-game football schedule for 1994. The Generals will play four home games and will finish the season with three road dates.

Georgetown, having to add more Division I-AA conference opponents, dropped a game against the Generals on Sept. 17, leaving a vacancy. 1994 WASHINGTON AND LEE FOOTBALL SCHEDULE September

In other area sports Monday:

Flip Groggins of Fincastle finished second in a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass in the IMSA GTO race at Lime Rock Raceway in Lime Rock, Conn. He qualified sixth in the 32-car field and was up to third place by the 27th lap. He reached second with 15 minutes left in the one-hour race and finished second to Joe Pezza of White Plains, N.Y. Groggins, second in overall IMSA points, will race at Watkins Glen, N.Y., on June 26. - From staff reports
