HINER, Russell Roscoe, 80, of Goodview, died Wednesday, June 1, 1994. He was a retired farmer, businessman and lifelong resident of Botetourt County, and was a member of the Woodsmen of the World. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Norma Jean and Ron Ardery, Roanoke; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Larry and Darlene Hiner, Charlotte, N. C., Dennis Hiner, Raleigh, N. C.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Nellie and Hubert Miller, North Hyland, Calif., Cathleen and Sidney Bower, Troutville, Ruth and Buddy Dudding, Roanoke; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Marie Hiner, Clarence and Helen Hiner, all of Evington; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 5, 1994, 2 p.m. at the Rader Troutville Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Doyle and the Rev. Mark Washington officiating. Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

JACKSON, Lillian Snyder, 76, of Buchanan, died Thursday, June 2, 1994. Originally of Buena Vista, she had resided in Buchanan for over 48 years. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Jefferson Hospital in 1939. She was the widow of Jack L. Jackson. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Byron H. and Diane F. Jackson, Pittsburgh, Pa., Jay A. and Jeanne W. Jackson, Charlottesville; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara J. and Richard A. DeLong, Prince George; four grandchildren, Marcia DeLong, Rachel Jackson, Ann DeLong, and Elliot Jackson; four brothers, W. Maurice Snyder, Theodore D. Snyder, both of Buena Vista, L. Vernon Snyder, Lexington, T. Earle Snyder, Collierstown. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 1994, at 2 p.m. in Buchanan Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Steve Shussett officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Buchanan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Buchanan Rescue Squad or the Buchanan Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, Buchanan.

LYTTON, Edith Bain, 59, of Christiansburg, passed away Thursday, June 2, 1994 at Radford Community Hospital. She was an employee of Wades. Surviving are her husband, Johnny T. Lytton, Christiansburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Lynn Taylor, Radford, Gayle and Gary King, Salem; mother, Carrie D. Bain of Radford; three brothers, Roma Lee Bain and Silas E. Bain, both of Radford, Curtis H. Bain, Christiansburg; three grandchildren, John Wayne and Shawna Lynn King, and Margaret C. Taylor; her mother-in-law, Izola Lytton; several nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 5, 1994 at West Radford Church of God, with the Rev. John Smith officiating. Interment will follow in West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.

PALMER, Jack Roger, 68, of Salem, died Thursday, June 2, 1994 in a Roanoke hospital. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Beamer Palmer; a son and daughter-in-law, William Howard and Lynn Gibson Palmer of Roanoke, a daughter and son-in-law, Martha Lynne and Kevin McMahill of Sterling; two brothers, Fred Palmer of Floyd and Howard Palmer of Denver, Co.; a sister, Ruth Height, of Tucson, Ariz.; granddaughter, Morgan Nicole McMahill. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4 at 2 p.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Michael Derflinger officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Lotz Salem Chapel.

PORTER, Blanche Bevil Spraker, 89, of Cripple Creek, died Wednesday, June 1, 1994 in the Wythe County Community Hospital. She was born in Wythe County, the daughter of the late Sidney and Sena Virginia Warrick Spraker. She was a member of the Crockett Chapel United Methodist Church and White Toppers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Porter, and one daughter, Martha Padgett. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Bob Ayers, Rural Retreat, Carolyn and J. D. Crockett, Richmond, Earl Padgett, Max Meadows; four sons and daughters-in-law, Norris N. and Marie Porter, Durham, N. C., Robert T. and Barbara Porter, Mayodan, N. C., E. Bruce and Nell H. Porter, Rural Retreat, Ronald G.``Jerry"" and Linda Porter, Cripple Creek; sixteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one stepgrandchild. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Crockett Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joe Carrico officiating. Interment will follow in sunset Memory Gardens in Rural Retreat. The body will be taken to the church one hour before service time. The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home, Friday, from 7 to 9 p.m. or at the residence of Jerry and Linda Porter at any time. The family suggests that those who prefer may make memorials to the Crockett Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.

RABIN, Robbie Garrett Wilson, 76, of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 1994, in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital. She was born December 6, 1917 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late James Elijah Wilson and Gertrude Morgan Wilson. She was a member of the Morgans Baptist Church, a member of the D. A. V. Chapter 3 and a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Vinton. She is survived by two daughters, Gertrude Duncan Saunders, Goodview, Helen Duncan Rogers, Charlotte, N.C.; a son, Norman Stacy Duncan Jr., Roanoke; four brothers, Linwood N. Wilson, Lynchburg, Everette B. Wilson, Roanoke, Alvin L. Wilson, San Diego, Ca., Frederick (Fred) Wilson, Goodview; one sister, Lola W. Pope, Holiday, Florida; six grandchildren, Freda A. Saunders, Goodview, Darryl E. Saunders, Bedford, Kevin S. Saunders, Moneta, Trista E. Saunders, Roanoke; Robbie L. Meador, Charlotte, N.C.; Jimmie E. REYNOLDS, Martha Ogle, 81, of Hillsville, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 1994, at Pulaski Health Care Center. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mildred and Chester N. Myers, Kingsport, Tenn., Sue and Bill White, Salem; three sisters, Mrs. Vera Gravley, Pulaski, Mrs. Sylvia Thompson, Dublin, Mrs. Opal Sowers, Hillsville; one brother, Elmer I (Jim) Ogle, Pulaski; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services 2 p.m. Friday, June 3, 1994 at the Hillsville First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Nathan Malone officiating. Interment will follow in the Jennings Cemetery. TAYLOR, Mary Elizabeth, 88, of New York City, died Saturday, May 28, 1994 at the Cornell Medical Center. She was a retired associate press feature writer, novelist and journalist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Davidson Taylor, former vice president of CBS and NBC and music critic for the New York Philharmonic. Surviving are a daughter, Alice Taylor, New York City; brothers, Dr. Robert Plummer, Ann Arbor, Michigan, Joseph Plummer, Roanoke; nephews, John Plummer, Jr., Bedford, Ind., William Plummer, Herndon, Va.; niece, Carol Ann Oberschmidt, Stockholm, Sweden; sister-in-law, Marjorie Plummer, Bedford, Ind.; brother-in-law, Arthur Taylor, Winterhaven, Fla. Memorial services will be Thursday, June 9, 1994, 11 a.m. at Saint Bartholomews Church, Park Ave., 50th St., New York City the Rev. Bruce Forbes officiating.
