BUCS COME BACK TO HAUNT KEYS, 7-6

Salem committed five errors, gave up 13 hits and fell behind by four runs twice before 7,313 spectators Friday night at Harry Grove Stadium.

Despite the charity, the Buccaneers disappointed the Frederick Keys' large crowd and rallied for a 7-6 Carolina League victory.

Jay Cranford led the Bucs (25-30) at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI. Sean Evans (1-3) picked up the victory with one inning of relief work, and Marc Pisciotta earned his 13th save by pitching a scoreless ninth.

After the third inning, Salem trailed 6-2. But the Bucs scored three runs in the top of the sixth and one each in the eighth and ninth to grab the victory.

Jason Kendall was 3-for-3 with one RBI for the Bucs.

B.J. Waszgis led the Keys, going 3-for-4 with a solo home run.

Charles Devereux (1-2) took the loss for Frederick, giving up the winning run in the ninth.
