RIVER'S EDGE IN GILES COUNTY TO MAKE 2ND GOSPEL ALBUM|

Four members of Riverview Baptist Church in Giles County who call themselves RIVER'S EDGE hope to record their second gospel album this summer. The group, together for about a year, consists of Mike and Susie Journell, Willie Lucas and Judy Dent. Their first recorded outing - issued on cassette - is "First For Him."

When they considered getting a group together, the Journells had sung as a duet and Dent as a soloist. "We looked for a tenor, and WIllie Lucas came to mind," said Mike Journell.

River's Edge reaches out to both churchgoers and to "the person who might not attend church but would come to a gospel sing," Journell said.

Now the group is looking for a live band to replace the pre-recorded soundtracks it uses at its appearances.

The quartet already is looking toward a third album. "We've written about seven or eight songs" for the third album, he said.

River's Edge will perform at the Sheffey camp meeting in July and at the Fourth of July celebration in Narrows. For information on River's Edge, call Mike or Susie Journell at 921-3320.
