ARTISTS HONORED IN SHOW

E. Antoinette Hale was named Best in Show in the 36th annual Sidewalk Art Show on Saturday at Roanoke's Festival in the Park.

Hale received $1,000 for her efforts.

Second prize, $600, went to Karl Kimbler. Third prize, $500, went to Will Mardis and fourth prize, $400, went to Mark R. Woodie.

Other winners were: Vera Dickerson, Blair Wiley Fishwick Memorial Award; Lillian M. Brooks, 12th annual Paul Ostaseski Memorial Award; Yumiko Ichikawa, Phillip Heiner Memorial Award.

Also winning prizes were Harriett Stokes; Gordon Neal; John F. Sauers; Aileen Fletcher; Bonnie D. Burt; J. Gail Geer; Denise Cormany; James Underwood; Janice Naschold; and Marcia McDade.

The show, arranged by the Docent Guild of the Art Museum of Western Virginia, was judged by W. Hearne Pardee, adjunct curator of the Maier Museum in Lynchburg.
