`DEAR JOHN' IN NEED OF QUESTIONS

For years, "Dear John" has been supplied by the Roanoke City Extension Office. If this column has been of interest to readers, it's because of the variety of questions sent in by readers that many gardeners and would-be gardeners could relate to.

However, mail received for this column has really slacked off lately. It has not picked up after a predicably slow winter. So, readers, as the closing paragraph at the end of each column states, we need your mail.

We're not asking for readers to come up with difficult questions in an effort to stump the local extension agent but rather to encourage readers to ask for information regarding plants in the garden, lawn or landscape that other readers can relate to.
