MARINE FROM ROANOKE DIES IN ACCIDENT IN OKINAWA

A Marine lance corporal from Roanoke was killed last week in an off-duty motorcycle accident in Okinawa.

David V. Davis Jr., 21, died last Monday, according to his father, David V. Davis of Westover Avenue Southwest.

Davis, a 1990 graduate of Patrick Henry High School, enlisted in the Marines three years ago and had been stationed in Okinawa with the 3rd Force Service Support Group since January 1993.

The family had received no details about the incident, his father said.
