ZOO FESTIVAL
The Blue Ridge Zoological Society of Virginia at Mill Mountain Zoo will
host the annual Conservation Festival on Saturday and Sunday at the zoo and
Mill Mountain Park. Breakfast with the Animals begins Saturday, 8:30-10 a.m.
Festival activities begin at 10. Exhibitors from more than 20 conservational
groups will have displays and information to distribute. They include the Blue
Ridge Parkway Service, the Wildlife Center of Virginia, the Blue Ridge
Herpetological Society, the Clean Valley Council, Roanoke City Recycling, the
Isaac Walton League, Appalachian Power Co., Earth Share, the International
Society for Endangered Cats and Cycle Systems.
Special programming in the zoo's amphitheater will include live-animal
presentations. Children's activities will include face painting, crafts and
games.
``Muttley,'' from the Discover Channel's ``Mac & Muttley'' show, will make
a guest appearance on Sunday at 3 p.m.
Admission is $3.50; $2 for children under 12. For more information, call
