SALEM TEEN RAPED IN HOME

A 17-year-old Salem girl was raped Friday in her home, according to police.

Salem police Sgt. D.R. Divers would not release the identity of the suspect, a 27-year-old man who is still at large. He said the man will be charged with rape and with breaking and entering to commit rape.

The girl told police that the man walked through the unlocked front door of her home about 3 p.m. The man told her they had met at a skating rink and that she knew him. The girl told police she did not know him.

While they were in the living room, the girl and the man began to fight. The man punched the girl in the stomach and dragged her to the bedroom where she was raped, the girl told police. Police said the man fled in a car.
