VAN CRASHES ON I-81; WYTHEVILLE MAN DIES

A 57-year-old Wytheville man died from injuries suffered Tuesday in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 81.

A northbound van driven by Robert William Shinault crossed the median near exit 84, went into the opposite lane and flipped over a guardrail, Trooper Jeff Bartlett said. He said Shinault was partially thrown from the van.

Shinault died shortly afterward at Wythe County Community Hospital. Bartlett said the accident happened about 9:30 a.m.
