TRANSPORTATION MUSEUM TO HOLD SUMMER CAMPS

The Virginia Museum of Transportation is offering several summer camps and workshops for youth.

Camp subjects will include: pioneer life in the old west, transportation models, and aviation. Children ages 5 to 8 will meet from 9 a.m. to noon, and those ages 9 to 12 will meet from 1 to 4 p.m.

"Adventures in Storyland", a six-week series for 3- and 4-year-olds, also is being offered. A different story will be read each week, and the children will participate in activities in science, art, music and math. The camp is on Tuesdays from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m.

Another camp program will be the overnight "Summer Fun Camp-In" for children ages 5 to 10 on July 15.

A new train photography series will also offered. Three workshops will be given: "Introduction to Train Photography" on June 25; "Intermediate Train Photography" on July 9; and "Advanced Train Photography on July 30. All workshops will be offered from 1 to 3 p.m.

The fee is $5 per workshop, and registration is required. Call 342-5670 for more information.
