FLYING TOASTERS OBSOLETE?

Part computer program, part computer utility, part entertainment and maybe even part art - computer screen savers are filling the shelves at software stores and moving around the display terminals of millions of home and office computers.

The scree-saver programs, which cost between $20 and $50 each, actually have outlived theiroriginal purpose of preventing computer images from etching themselves into screens by being continously displayed. Preventing screen "burn-in"isn't as essential as it used to be, with the move to color terminals and away from mono-chrome monitors.
