BURNETT, Donald Dean, 56, of Draper, formerly of Fries, died Friday, June 10, 1994 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Clay Hamm, the Rev. Joe Carrico, and the Rev. Jim Thorpe officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. or at the residence at any time. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.

CARTER, Mary Ann, 63, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, June 10, 1994. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.

CECIL, Ralph James, 83, of Radford, passed away Friday, June 10, 1994, at Wheatland Hills Retirement Center. He was a retired Operating Engineer with 45 years of service. He attended the New Dublin Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two sons, James Arthur Cecil of Portsmouth and William Ralph Cecil of Rockwall, Texas; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Sunday, June 12, 1994 at 3 p.m. at the Old Dublin Cemetery at Dublin with the Rev. John K. Boyd and the Rev. Benton Trawick officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Dublin Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.

CORPREW, Maggie Harris, of Portsmouth, Virginia, passed away Monday, June 6, 1994. She was the widow of Edinburgh Corprew, Sr., the founder of Corprew Funeral Home in Portsmouth. Having served many families from this area, the Corprew Funeral Home is familiar to the citizens of Roanoke. She was a member of the Virginia Morticians' Association where she served as Treasurer of the Scholarship Fund for many years. She was also a member of Portsmouth Funeral Directors and the National Funeral Directors and Morticiano Association, Inc., headquartered in Chicago. Survivors include one son, Edinburgh (Tip) Corprew, former City Councilman for the City of Portsmouth; daughter-in-law, Beverly; several sisters and brothers and other relatives. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 11, 1994 at the St. James Episcopal Church in Portsmouth, with entombment in Greenlawn Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the Corprew Funeral Home, 1822 Portsmouth Blvd, Portsmouth, Va. 23704 on Friday, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Virginia Morticians' Association will serve as Honorary Bearers and active Pall Bearers.

DAVIS, John S., ``Johnny'', of Roanoke, died Thursday, June 9, 1994, in a local hospital. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a co-owner of Joe & Johnny's, and one time owner of the Garden City Grocery. He is survived by two sons, Robbie and David, both of Roanoke; and a sister, Virginia Grubar, Rockville, Md.; nephews, (J.J.) Davis, Stafford, Va., Tommy Davis, Salisbury, Md.; nieces, Jacqueline Grubar Baker, Japan, Regina Grubar, Arlington, Va., Carla and Heather Davis. Funeral services will be held at the graveside in St. Andrew's Diocesan Cemetery, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, with Father James Fosnot officiating. Arrangements are by Oakey's South Chapel.

HARRIS, Grace Norman, 81, of Salem, passed away Thursday, June 9, 1994. Survivors include her husband, Robert F. Harris, Salem; two sons, Robert G. (Shirley P.) Harris, Norfolk, Joseph W. Harris Sr., Atlanta, Ga.; three daughters, Ann H. Gilmer, Betty H. Fennell, Linda C. Harris, all of Salem; one sister, Mary Ella Davenport, Cleveland, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Charlotte Degraphenreid, Heywood Sweeney, Gerry Shoffner, Chris Gravely, Matthew O. Fennell II, Nikki Harris, Joseph Harris II, Rochelle Bratton, Debroah Bratton and Pervis Harris; eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends. HARTBARGER, Raymond Burr, 77, of Lexington, died Friday, June 10, 1994 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital, Lexington. Mr. Hartbarger was born in Rockbridge Co., Va. on February 17, 1917, a son of the late Charles Jacob and Willie Virginia Knick Hartbarger. He was a member of the Kerrs Creek Baptist Church, a charter member of the Kerrs Creek Fire Department, and a retired grocery clerk. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Hostetter Hartbarger, Lexington; one daughter and son-in-law, Irma Dean and Jim Ayers, Lexington; two brothers, Thurman Cleo Hartbarger and Donald M. Hartbarger, both of Lexington; one granddaughter, Shannon Dean Ayers, Lexington. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 12, 1994 at 3 p.m. in the Kerrs Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Will Hamric officiating. Burial to follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens, Lexington. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Kerrs Creek Fire Department or the Kerrs Creek Baptist Church Building Fund. STEGER, James Williams, (``Tad""), 77, of 750 Prospect Avenue, Pulaski, Va., died Friday morning, June 10, 1994 at the North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, N. C. He was born in Pulaski, Va. on April 11, 1917, the son of the late Sidney B. Steger Jr. and Emily Williams Steger. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Sidney B. Steger III, and William D. Steger Sr. Mr. Steger attended Center College in Danville, Ky. He was the retired owner and operator of Steger's Laundry and Dry Cleaners of Pulaski. Mr. Steger was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pulaski, where he was a longtime member of the Chancel Choir and taught the Trolinger Bible Class. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and held one of the earliest issued pilot's license in the state of Virginia. He was a former member of the Pulaski Rotary Club, a member of the Elks Club, where he served as Exaulted Ruler and District Deputy, a member of the Pythagoras Lodge, where he was honored as a 50 year member of the Masonic Fraternity. Mr. Steger served his community as a volunteer with the Pulaski Senior Center, Daily Bread, and the AARP volunteer program. He was active in the organization of the Neighborhood Crime Watch Program for the Town of Pulaski. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Bettye Heldreth Steger, Pulaski; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn and Keith Hutcherson, Forest, Trudy and Ronald Garrett Cook, Pulaski; two grandchildren, Emily Noelle Hutcherson and Brett Lynn Hutcherson, both of Forest. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church, Pulaski, with the Rev. Norman Wilhoit and the Rev. Ty Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, with Pulaski Masonic Lodge conducting the graveside rites. Visiting will be Saturday evening at Stevens Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the Music Fund at the First United Methodist Church, 135 Fourth St., N. STINNETT, Virginia Easter, 91, of Buchanan, died Thursday, June 9, 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry F. Stinnett. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Sidney Locke, Crewe, Va., Edna and Bill Dudley, Angier, N.C.; two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Shirley Stinnett, Lindsey and Brenda Stinnett, all of Buchanan; three grandchildren and their spouses, Larry and Debbie Locke, Mike and Amy Fenster, and Billy Ray Dudley. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Edna W. and Lewis Chittum, Roanoke; son and daughter-in-law, Jesse L. and Sue S. Wilson, Roanoke; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Cabel G. and Aileen B.
