Sgt. Mike Alderman said juvenile petitions likely will be obtained against two 17-year-old boys.
In mid-April, Conrad Brothers reported a boat motor and a trolling motor were missing. Last week, the Sheriff's Office recovered both motors and a gasoline can.
As a part of that investigation, investigators also recovered tools, a VCR, an air tank, a boat battery, a gun and a compact disc player. Alderman said the items were recovered at the home of one of the boys. The boy lived with his grandmother and was able to conceal the thefts from his parents, Alderman said.
The items are valued at between $8,000 and $10,000.
Investigators are trying to match up the recovered items to other reported thefts.
"Some of it, we don't even know where it came from," Alderman said.
A spokesman at the Sheriff's Office said Monday that there had been no further developments in the investigation.
