The company on Thursday is scheduled to break ground for a $1 million building in Intervale Industrial Park in Salem.
Rollins has been renting quarters in Statesman Industrial Park in Roanoke.
Keith Graves, the company's branch manager, said Rollins hopes to be at the new 51/2-acre location by October. J.M. Turner Co. is the contractor. The branch has six employees.
Rollins is a branch of Rollins Truck Leasing Corp. of Wilmington, Del., a publicly traded company with $408 million in revenue in 1993. It has existed since 1954.
Rollins leases trucks to businesses and can provide the vehicle and its maintenance and fuel through various leasing programs.
Graves said it took a long time to complete negotiations for its new facility partly because of the time it took to get permits to operate a truck service facility and to have fuel tanks on the property.
Fleetmaster Express is the company's main customer in the Roanoke area, but Circuit City Stores Inc., Southern Refrigeration Corp. and James River Limestone Co. Inc. also are clients.
The parent corporation employs more than 2,300 and owns more than 24,000 vehicles.
