ROANOKE VALLEY ECONOMIC INDICATORS

Driven by revived home building rather than by a single big project, the value of building permits issued in the Roanoke Valley rose 61.6 percent in May conpared to a year ago. May's value of $16.5 million was up 89 percent over April. The number of permits was up 20.4 percent for the year and 8 percent for the month.
