RELIGION BRIEFS

THE DEACON AND DEACONESS BOARDS at Macadonia Baptist Church will celebrate their 13th anniversary June 26 at 3:30 p.m. The Rev. Adrian Dowles, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Salem, will be the guest speaker.

\ PRICE MEMORIAL AMERICAN METHODIST EPISCOPAL ZION CHURCH will honor its pastor, the Rev. William J. Turner, Sunday at 4 p.m. Turner has been pastor at the church for four years.

The Rev. Delaware Clark Jr. and his choir and congregation from Hopel Chapel Baptist Church in Dry Fork will be the guests for the occasion.

A fellowship dinner will be served at 2 p.m.

\ WILLIAMS MEMORIAL BAPTIST CHURCH will have its first Outdoor Gospel Festival Saturday on the back lawn and parking lot of the church at 2105 Carroll Ave. The festival will begin at 6 p.m.

The Men of Distinction, B.A.S.I.C., the Seventh-day Adventist Ensemble and the Voices of Inspiration will be among the groups featured. Hot dogs, drinks and baked goods will be sold.

\ THE SALEM CHURCH OF CHRIST is having vacation Bible school Monday through June 24 from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. The church is at 401 W. Main St.

There will be guest speakers from the National Parks Service, Mill Mountain Zoo, the Science Museum of Western Virginia and Roanoke Valley fire and police departments. The Sermon on the Mount will be discussed on June 24.

\ FINCASTLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH will hear the experiences of Bobby and Debbie Booze, who are serving with Educational Services International in Hungary, on Sunday during Sunday school and the 11 a.m. worship service.
