JUDGE RULES AGAINST ABORTION PROTESTERS

A federal judge rejected an anti-abortion group's arguments Thursday and upheld a new law that bars protesters from blocking the entrances of abortion clinics.

The ruling was the first to come out of several challenges anti-abortion activists have filed against the law across the country.

U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema of Alexandria rejected the American Life League Inc.'s claim that the law is biased, is too vague and violates the right of free speech.
