CARTER LEADS DOMINION TOURNAMENT

Ex-PGA Tour professional Jim Carter of Scottsdale, Ariz., shot a 4-under-par 68 to take a two-stroke lead after Friday's second round of the Nike Tour's $200,000 Dominion Open in Richmond.

Carter, who finished second to Tommy Armour III in the tour's Pensacola (Fla.) Open two weeks ago, has a 36-hole total of 11-under 133.

Greg Cesario, Webb Heintzelman, Rich Parker and Sonny Skinner are two strokes back at 9-under-par 135. Another six players are tied at 136.

PGA Tour pro Bobby Wadkins of Richmond is at 139.

Sixty-three players made the 36-hole cut at 3-under-par 141. Among those missing the cut were Hanging Rock teaching pro Chip Sullivan, who shot 70-74.
