ANDERSON, Pearl Christine, (``Chris''), 48, of Roanoke, died Friday, June 17, 1994. Surviving is her children, Tina Marie Poul, Terri Lynn Collins, James Dean Anderson; four grandchildren. BENNETT, Joseph Wade, (``Joey""), 16, of Gretna, died Friday, June 17, 1994, as the result of an automobile accident. Survivors include his mother, Betty Vasser, Gretna; his father and stepmother, Wayne and Margie Bennett, Sandy Level; one half brother, Kevin Wayne Bennett, Gretna; two half sisters, Penny Lynn Haskins, Amanda Jean Shelton, both of Gretna; paternal grandparents, Mrs. Fannie Dalton, Sandy Level, Eldridge Junior Bennett, Sandy Level; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Felix Vasser, Gretna. BRILLHART, Amie Alls, 87, of Colonial Heights, died Friday, June 17, 1994, at John Randolph Hospital, Hopewell. She was a native of Catawba, Va., the daughter of the late Albert and Lou Emma Alls, the widow of Marvin M. Brillhart, and a member of Catawba United Methodist Church. Mrs. Brillhart was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth B. Sirry. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor B. and Jesse Avery of Colonial Heights; four grandchildren, Marvin Sirry, Cindy Thompson, Stephanie Connelly and Amy Jackson; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, Colonial Heights, with the Rev. Dr. Floyd Wingfield and the Rev. Gus Wright officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George.

CREASON, Ruth Ellis, 92, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, June 18, 1994 in Friendship Health Care Center, Roanoke. The widow of the late Clyde M. Creason, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Joe T. (Virginia Ruth) Burke, Radford, Mrs. William F. (Grace) Alexander, Lanexa, Mrs. Jerry N. (Betty) Sturgill, Christiansburg, Mrs. Joseph L. (Maxine) Capua, Dallas, Texas; one son, Clyde Milton Creason, Charlotte, N. C.; one sister, Nannie Smith, Jefferson, N. C.; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 20, 1994 at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Chuck McHose, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. GRAY, Elmer Bruce Jr., 46, of Louisa, died Saturday, June 18, 1994. He is survived by his wife, Martha Prease Gray, Louisa; his mother, Charlene Miller, Norton; his mother-in-law, Louise R. Prease, Buchanan; two sisters, Pamela T. Campbell, Reading, Pa., Teresa J. Gilliam, Wise; one brother, Randall Miller, Gray, Tenn. HODGES, David Ivan, 47, of Vinton, died Saturday, June 18, 1994. The son of Glen Hodges of Norfolk, Va. and Elsie Stone of Venice, Fla. He was born and grew up in Harrisville, MI. Mr. Hodges was an employee of Elizabeth Arden for 28 years. He was a member and manager of the gospel singing group ``The Singing Servants.'' His loving generosity, great sense of humor and unyielding Christian faith will be greatly missed by his family and friends. David was preceded in death by his grandmother, Oakie May Hodges of Rocky Mount, Va. He is survived by his wife, Linda Dillon Hodges, Vinton; son and daughter-in-law, Ty and Linda Hodges of Vinton; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Brian Kidman of Roanoke. He is also survived by t wo sisters, Janet Hodges and Julie Guthrie both of Roanoke; three brothers, Jim Hodges of Vinton and Charles Stone and Victor Hodges both of Venice, Fla. and many other beloved family members. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 20,1994, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Basham and Rev. Skip Davis officiating with burial to follow in Mt. View Cemetery, Vinton. KANE, Ernest J., 72, of Galax, died Friday, June 17, 1994. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Kane, Galax; one daughter, Bonnie Susan Phillips, Chesapeake, Va.; one son, Bobby Kane, Galax; and four grandsons. KREITLER, Oscar Hobart, 97, of Blacksburg, died Thursday, June 16, 1994. Born in Newark, N.J. on October 26, 1896, Mr. Kreitler was a veteran of World War I, having served in France at the General Headquarters and later with the 29th Engineers. Beloved husband of the late Isabel B. Kreitler, he is survived by a daughter, Florence K. (Kandy) Davis, Blacksburg; son-in-law, Walter M. Davis; grandchildren, John E. and Donna K. Davis, Bruce M. and Lee M. Davis, Wendy D. and Joseph C. Kelley, Nancy D. and Richard T. Palmer; great-grandsons, Thomas Marlow Davis and Matthew Gamble Davis; sister, Emma L. Kreitler; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 20, 1994, at 3 p.m., in the Blacksburg Christian Fellowship with Elder Dan Thompson officiating. McGUIRE, David Benjamin, 74, of Radford, died Saturday, June 18, 1994, at Radford Community Hospital. He was a retired employee of Burlington Industries with 47 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a volunteer at Wheatland Hills Retirement Center where he had many special friends. He was a member of the Radford Wesleyan Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary P. McGuire of Radford; three daughters, Geraline Harris of Radford, Mrs. Jackie (Bonnie) Sumner of Dublin; Mrs. Herman (Patty) Brooks of Pontiac, Michigan; one son, David (Buddy) and wife, Joyce McGuire of Christiansburg; three step children, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cromer of Shawsville; Robert and Kathy Pannell of Shawsville, Wayne and Melissa Pannell of Shawsville; one brother, Bill McGuire of Radford; four sisters, Edna Warden of Radford, Lucille Mayberry of Spartansburg, S.C., Ivy Adkins of Christiansburg and Hazel Dulaney of Alum Ridge; also survived by 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. RENICK, Helen Stanley, 69, of Callaway, died Friday morning, June 17, 1994, at her home. She was born October 12, 1924 in West Virginia, the daughter of the late Marion and Annie L. Stanley. Mrs. Renick was a member of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren and corresponding secretary of the Green Thumb Garden Club. She retired from Eli Lilly Company. She is survived by her husband, James (Buck) Renick, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Wayne Blankenship, Callaway, and Kathy and Roger Nichols, Terre Haute, Ind.; two sons and da ughters-in-law, Ronald and Sandra Renick, Vinton, and Jimmy and Brenda Renick, Callaway; four sisters, Lucille Askew, of Georgia, Muriel Wright of Texas, Mildred Burchett, Alexandria, Francis Brant, of California; seven grandchildren, one grandson-in-law, Tim and Rissa Craighead, Danny Blankenship, Donald Blankenship, Amy Renick, Jennifer Renick, Christie Nichols and Anne Nichols. ROACH, Virginia M., 88, of Hot Springs, died Saturday, June 18, 1994. Arrangements are being handled by J. B. Lewis Funeral Service, Lexington.

ROBINSON, Woodrow Wilson, 82, of Woodstock, died Friday, June 17, 1994 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. Dr. Robinson graduated from King College and received a Masters Degree from Duke University. He taught in Washington, Tazewell, and Smyth Counties. He was principal of Virginia High School in Bristol and of Radford High School. He served as Superintendent of Schools in Floyd County. In 1957, Dr. Robinson moved to Woodstock, where he served as Superintendent of Schools in Shenandoah County for 17 years. In 1961, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorite of Education from King College. W. W. Robinson actively served in public education for 42 years. During that time he was treasurer, then president of the Virginia Education Association. He was a member of the State Board of Education, appointed by Governor John Dalton, from 1978 to 1982. He was an adjunct teacher for James Madison University and was awarded ``Educator of the Year"" in 1976. In addition, he served on the boards of public television station WVPT, Lord Fairfax Community College and Massanutten Academy. He was president of the Kiwanis Club of Radford, Floyd Ruritan Club, and the Woodstock Rotary Club. Recently, the Rotary Club made him a Paul Harris Fellow. Perhaps the greatest honor he received was the naming of an elementary school after him in 1976 in Woodstock. Surviving Dr. Robinson are his wife, Marilyn McGhee Robinson; two daughters, Jean Mansmann, Wayne, Pa., and Barbara S. Williams, Richmond; one brother, Benjamin Franklin Robinson Jr., Mt. Holly, N. C.; and six grandchildren, Michael, David, Nicholas and Timothy Slavin, all of Richmond, and Danny and Kelsey Mansmann, Wayne, Pa. The funeral will be at the Woodstock Presbyterian Church, where he served as Elder, on Monday, June 20, 1994, at 11 a.m. in Woodstock, Va. Burial will be Tuesday, June 21, 1994, at 11 a.m. in the Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Va. The family will meet at the church Monday, at 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to The W.W. RODGERS, Ida V., of Vinton, died Saturday, June 18, 1994. Mrs. Rodgers was formerly employed by Heironimus and Lotz Vinton Chapel, and was preceded in death by her husband, James Rodgers and a daughter, Martha R. Hotinger. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph W. and Angela S. Rodgers of Vinton; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan R. and Edward Hinchee of Denver, Co.; foster children, David Smith, Judy Hall and Margot Brown; a son-in-law, Harvey Hotinger of Roanoke and seven grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 20, 1994, 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Elks and Rev. Kevin Meadows officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery. THOMAS, Charles Walter, 74, of Radford, died Friday, June 17, 1994 at his residence. Born February 4, 1920, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Josephine Veneble. He was retired from Norfolk and Western Railroad, with over 40 years of service. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Radford. He was a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Dottie Lawson Thomas, Radford; two sons, Butch Thomas, Lynchburg, Bruce Thomas, Radford; one daughter, Patsy McGuire, Radford; two sisters, Virginia Johnson, Portsmouth, Dot Grace, Chilhowie and their loving families; two favorite cousins, Mildred Rupard, Radford, Kathleen Wesley, Baltimore, Md.; five grandchildren, Shauna Williams, Shaun Thomas, John McGuire II, Tonya McGuire, Mia Thomas; and three great-grandchildren, John McGuire III, Joshua McGuire, and Brooke Williams. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 22, 1994 at 5 p.m. from the Central United Methodist Church in Radford, with the Rev. Joe Green and the Rev. Jim Cochran officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the church. WILLIAMS, Eldridge W., (``Willie""), 64, of Roanoke, died Saturday, June 18, 1994, in a Roanoke hospital. He had retired from the Roanoke Times and World-News after 42 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Mary Heath Williams; two daughters and one son, Rhonda and David Potter, Charleston, S.C., Rosemary and Bill Burkert, Stow, Ohio, Carl and Charlotte Williams, Roanoke; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Ellen Williams, Iuka, Miss., John and Dot Williams, Hickory Flat, Miss., Haywood and Betty Williams, Salem; two sisters and brother-in-law, Geraldine Andrews, Roanoke, Dot and Lawrence Smith, Sandston; five grandchildren, Timothy Williams, Shaun Burkert, Shannon Burkert, Ryan Williams, Amy K. WITCHER, Albert Armistead, 77, of Roanoke, died Friday, June 17, 1994, in the V.A. Medical Center. He graduated from Lucy Addison High School and Lincoln University, Jefferson City, Mo. He was Vice Counselor to Liberia with the Department of Interior, Washington, D.C. He is survived by two brothers, John Witcher, Malcolm Witcher, both of Roanoke; two sisters, Mrs. Nancy K. Lane, Mrs. Fannie Gross, both of Roanoke; a host of nieces and nephews. Private graveside service will be held Monday, 2 p.m., Sandy Level, in Pittsylvania County. There will be no visitation.
