BOLEN, Edsel Ford Sr., 63, of Boones Mill, died Sunday, June 19, 1994, in Roanoke Memorial Hosptial. Mr. Bolen was retired from Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alvis Bolen. Surviving are his wife, Faye M. Bolen; sons and daughters-in-law Edsel F. Jr. and Robin Bolen, Roanoke, Randall W. an Linda Bolen of Rocky Mount; three grandchildren, Scott D. Bolen, Tiffany N. Bolen and Lorinda R. Hodges; also surviving are his mother and father-in-law, Mrs. and Mr. Remus H. McVey of Coal City, W.Va.; his brothers; sisters; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. James H. Steele officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. BOYD, Lucy Viers, 68, of Radford, passed away Sunday, June 19, 1994, at her home. She was retired from Radford University Food Service Dept. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Boyd. Survivors include, three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Ted Hollins, and Terry and Eddie Kimbleton, all of Radford, and Sheron and Larry Pannell of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Julius Viars of Pearisburg; two sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Coalson of Radford and Mrs. Paul Stewart of Moneta; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 21, 1994, at 11 a.m. at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home with the Rev. William H. Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Burial Park in Radford. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home.
BRECKINRIDGE, William Cary, 76, of Fincastle, Botetourt Co., and Salem, Va., died Saturday, June 18 1994. Bill was the son of the late William Norwood Breckinridge, MD, and Caroline Louise Camper Breckinridge. He was born February 22, 1918 at ``Aspen Hill"", Fincastle and graduated from Washington & Lee University, where he earned a Juris Doctorate. Following this, Bill entered the United States Army Air Corp, where he served with the 339th Fighter Group in the Eighth Air Force from 1941 to 1945, being discharged with the rank of Major. Following his service in WWII, Bill worked as an Adjudicator with the Veterans Administration. He then practiced Law in Fincastle with William ``Dub"" Minter and later served under Robert Kennedy in the Office of the U. S. Attorney for the Western District of Virginia. Bill was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, where he served on the vestry, the Shenandoah Club in Roanoke, various historical societies, and was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Order of the Cincinnati. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #0019. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte Mason Luke Breckinridge. Surviving are one son, Cary Luke Breckinridge and his wife, Jennifer Bruce Breckinridge; one daughter, Charlotte Hunter Breckinridge Woodyard and her husband, Richard D. Woodyard Jr.; grandsons, Breckinridge Luke Woodyard and Richard Cary Woodyard, all of Roanoke, Va. Also surviving are one brother, Lomax Easley Breckinrid ge, Fincastle, Va.; one sister, Louise Camper Breckinridge Hall, Roanoke, Va. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 21, 1994, 4 p.m., from the St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Fincastle, Va., with interment at Godwin Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Father James Workman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Fincastle, Va. or the Salem Rescue Squad. DAWSON, Mary Ann, 81, of Blacksburg, formerly of Niagara Falls, N.Y., died Saturday, June 18, 1994 in Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major General Chester C. Dawson. Mrs. Dawson had made her home with her daughter in Blacksburg for the past seven years. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Robert Turner, Blacksburg, Sharon and Lee Hulsebus, Atlanta, Ga.; two sons and daughter-in-law, Chester C. Jr. and Ruth Dawson, Hudson, Ohio, James W. Dawson, Hempstead, N.Y.; one brother, Joseph Hehir, The Town of Tonawanda, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law, Veronica Hehir, Lorraine Hehir, both of Niagara, N. Y.; grandchildren, and spouses, Chester II and Kumiko Dawson, Shannon and David Minor, Devin Turner, Brenden Turner, and Laura Ann Hulsebus . DUSCHL, Anna M., 88, of Roanoke, died Sunday, June 19, 1994 in a local hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Mathias Duschl, and a daughter, Theresa Benney. FERACA, Joyce Regina Watkins, 91, of Long Beach, N.Y. died Friday, June 17, 1994. Joyce was the last of 11 children born to Andrew Bailey and Annie Maehl Watkins. She was born and raised in Salem when she left Salem to marry Louis B. Feraca they made their home in New York. Her husband precedes her in death as well as a son, Louis Feraca Jr. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Richard Dremuk of Edwardsville, Ill.; five grandchildren, Kathleen Sherman, Louis Feraca III, Lorraine Hennessey, John Feraca, Jastine Watts; seven great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces and nephews in the Salem area. Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at O.L.P.H. Catholic Church, Salem with Father Gregory Candt officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. FRALIN, Mason Hughes, 70, of Bedford, died Sunday, June 19, 1994, in VA Hospital, Salem. He was born July 27, 1923, in Bedford Co. a son of the late Warty Fralin and Clarice Hawkins Fralin. He was a retired employee of Adams Construction Co. and was a veteran of WWII. He is survived by Thelma Rice Gordon, Bedford; two daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn W. and Jerry Fralin, Rocky Mount, Barbara Ann Fralin, Roanoke; the children of Thelma Rice Gordon: Shirley Witt, Margaret Andrews, Faye LaFon, Ruth Manspile, Bonnie Robertson, Linda Robertson all of Bedford, Richard Gordon, Evington, Jerry Gordon, Billy Gordon both of Bedford; one brother, Golden Fralin, Blue Ridge; two sisters, Myrian Williamson, Blue Ridge, Shirley Nance, Roanoke; two grandchildren. MARTIN, Alberta Rebecca Beasley, 87, of Pulaski, died Saturday evening, June 18, 1994 in Pulaski Community Hospital. Born in Carroll County December 25, 1906, she was the daughter of the late David Fleming Beasley and Amanda Bell Huff Beasley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel R. (Red) Martin Sr. Mrs. Martin was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church and a member of Pulaski Chapter #113 Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by one son, Sam R. Martin Jr., Maryville, Tenn.; one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Norma) Hicks, San Diego, Calif.; four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Emory officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Monday evening, 7 to 9 p.m., at Thomas M. WILLS, K. Michael, 46, of Salem, passed away at his residence Sunday, June 19, 1994, after a lengthy illness. He was predeceased by his mother, Joyce Young. Mr. Wills was a former employee of Regional Construction Company and Heritage Builders. Most recently he had his own business, Home Planning Services and had Wiley Construction Company and Dominion Builders as clients. Surviving are his wife, Joy Wills; a son, Brent Wills, Boulder, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Rhonda Fisher, Salem; his father, Kenneth Wills and wife, Lila, Roanoke; a stepfather, Donald Young, Roanoke; his sister, Michelle Stanley, Roanoke; three brothers, Tim Young, Jeffrey Young and Jamey Young all of Roanoke; and his grandmother, Ruth Wills, Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday from Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. Mark Washington officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. WRIGHT, Roland G., 70, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, June 19, 1994, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 3, 1924, in Franklin Co., Va., the younger son of Claude and Hazel Wright. Mr. Wright had one brother, the late Douglas Wright. Roland Wright is survived by his devoted wife, Merle Pugh Wright; and his only son, Allen L. Wright, and a daughter-in-law, Vella Wright. He also leaves two beloved grandchildren, Jeff and Jenna Wright. His other survivors are a sister-in-law, Verona P. Freeman and nephew, Waymoth E. Mitchell, Los Angeles, Calif.; a nephew and wife, Curtis and Linda Wright, and dear grand-nephew, Jesse Wright, Roanoke; a nephew, Barry Wright and his wife of North Carolina; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Wright, Roanoke. In addition, he leaves many cousins and friends, including two special lifelong friends, Icy and Frank Lee, Roanoke. Roland Wright was a veteran of World War II, and was awarded the Silver Star in that war. He was the founder and owner of Duf-Rite Cleaners, Inc. and Duf-Rite Laundry Center for many years, and he leaves many friends and co-workers in that business. He was a faithful employer and friend to all his employees and he will be greatly missed for the many deeds of compassion and love to all who knew him. He and his family were members of Huntington Court United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held at Oakey's North Chapel on Wednesday, June 22, 1994 at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends there on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial at Sherwood Memorial Park will follow the service, which will be conducted by Dr. Alton M. Washington. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel.
