BANKING GROUPS TO MERGE

With distinctions between savings institutions and banks fading, the Virginia Bankers Association and Virgina League of Savings Institutions have agreed to join forces.

\ Members of the Virginia Bankers Association and the Virginia League of Savings Insitutions have voted to merge their organizations.

The suviviing title will be the Virginia Bankers Association. The merger will be effective on completion of due diligence requirements of the agreement, meaning both parties are allowed to examine financial and other records.
