5 BANKRUPTCIES FILED IN ROANOKE

Five bankruptcies with business affiliations have been filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Western Virginia at Roanoke. Three of them are personal bankruptcies that the court listed as businesses because they have commercial connections and could be of interest to business creditors and customers.

K-A Recording and Sound Corp., trading as Music Works/USA and also trading as Threshold Recording, filed for liquidation. The company, whose business involves recording of music and sale of instruments and sound equipment, has its headquarters at 410 Elm Ave. S.W. in Roanoke, but Music Works is located at 621 Townside Road S.W. The company listed assets of $9,553 and liabilities of $320,434.

JBW Auto Parts Inc., also known as Jim's Auto Parts, operator of an auto parts store at Coeburn, filed for reorganization and protection from creditors. It listed assets of $128,500 and liabilities of $180,615.

David Forester of Richlands sought liquidation, showing assets of $182,550 and liabilities of $130,069. He is a psychiatrist who has an interest in Appalachian Psychiatric Center at Richlands, although it is not involved in the bankruptcy.

William A. Lorek and Cynthia B. Lorek of 2220 Pommel Drive in Roanoke filed for liquidation with assets of $36,235 and liabilities of $100,570. Cynthia Lorek has an interest in a retail store, Bridles 'N Bits in Salem, which is not involved in the bankruptcy.

Calvin C. Giles and Norma J. Giles of 224 Cherry Hill Drive in Roanoke showed assets of $46,690 and liabilities of $89,379 in seeking liquidation. Calvin Giles formerly operated Giles Towing Service.
