WEST, TRI-COUNTY SPLIT DOUBLEHEADER

Tri-County Post 145 scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to edge Roanoke Post 3 West 7-6 in the first game of an American Legion baseball doubleheader Saturday night. West came back to take the wild nightcap 20-18.

In the opener, Bobby Cheeks drove in Randy Blevins with a single to win it for Tri-County. Brian Hawks went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI for the hosts.

Chad Shaffner won the first game in relief and went 2-for-5 with four RBI in the second game for Tri-County. - Staff report
