ALTIZER, Grace Bell Ward O'Bryan, 93, of Fairfax, died Sunday, June 26, 1994. Funeral 11 a.m. Wednesday, Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulsaki.

AUSTIN, Gladys Daughtrey, 90, of Roanoke, died Sunday, June 26, 1994. She was the widow of Lynwood H. (Toats) Austin. Mrs. Austin joined the Methodist Church at the age of 12. For the last 25 years she has been a member of Mays Memorial Methodist Church. She is survived by one son and special daughter-in-law, James L. (Bud) and Shirley B. Austin, who was her constant caregiver, of Roanoke; one daughter, Frances A. Ferguson, Goodview; three stepgranddaughters, Kathy Dunbar, Debbie Sanson, Linda Nester; stepgreat-granddaughter and caregiver, Angela Dunbar, all of Roanoke; one grandson and wife, Michael E. and Linda Y. Ferguson of Vinton; one granddaughter and husband, Patti F. and Steven Stockman, Ho uston, Texas; also great-granddaughter, Kelly Ferguson; great-grandson and wife, Kevin and Crystal Ferguson; and one great-great-granddaughter, Goodview; one brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Mattie Daughtrey, St. Petersburg, Fla. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's Vinton Chapel 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 1994 with the Rev. E. Lee Chattin officiating. Entombment will be in Sherwood Chapel Garden Mausoleum. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.

HACKLEY, Annie Beatrice, 100, of 924 Staunton Ave., N.W., Roanoke, died Friday, June 24, 1994. She was a member of High Street Baptist Church and a long time teacher at Gainsboro Elementry and Addison High Schools. She later spent several years teaching in the public schools in Washington, D.C. Among her survivors is a devoted niece, Mrs. Gwendolyn J. Lawrence; seven other nieces, nine nephews; and other relatives. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Chapel. Dr. Noel C. Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in Williams Memorial Park. Friends may call Monday at Hamler-Curtis Funeral Home.

HODGES, Jane Marie, 68, of Rocky Mount, died Saturday evening, June 25, 1994 at the residence of her daughter, Rhonda. She was a member of Rocky Mount Christian Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Bill J. Hodges Jr. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Sarah Hodges, Rocky Mount, Wayne and Arlene Hodges, Mechanicsville, Allen and Carol Hodges, Rocky Mount; two daughters and one son-in-law, Renee Lambert, Rhonda and Roger Sisco, all of Ferrum; grandchildren, Emilee Hodges, Jeffrey Hodges, Jared Hodges, Jeremy Lambert, Rachel Hodges, Beth Hodges, Jessica Hodges, Philip Hodges; a special sister-in-law, Betty Hamblett; and other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Lewis Arnold and the Rev. Glenn Clements officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. JONES, Nellie Boothe, 85, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, June 25, 1994, in the Montgomery Regional Hospital. The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at the Faith Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Sunset Cemetery. Arrangments are being handled by Richardson-Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg.

MARSHALL, James Royce, 74, of Hillsville, passed away, Sunday, June 26, 1994 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. Born November 11, 1919 in Carroll County he was the son of the late Winford Marshall and Dena Thomas Marshall. he is survived by one sister, Goldie A. Thomas of Hillsville; special niece, Berlene Porter of Rural Hall, N.C.; special nephew, Bruce Thomas of Hillsville; and a host of other nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 1994 at the Gladesboro Cemetery with the Rev. Duane Steele officiating. Interment will follow in the Gladesboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville.

PAYNE, Barbara Joanne, 56, of Christiansburg, passed away Sunday, June 26, 1994, at her home. She was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Carlos L. Payne; one step-daughter, Mrs. Tammy R. Penley of Elkin, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Ferris of Troutville, and Mrs. Edith Cruise of Dublin; one brother, Vernon Taylor of Sutherland, Va.; one stepgrandson, Jason Penley. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. M.D. Saunders officiating. ROOP, Nina Lake, 94, of Snowville, died Sunday morning, June 26, 1994, in a Blackburg health care center. She was a retired school teacher. Survivors include on sister, Bertha L. Roop of Christiansburg; and a nephew, Lincoln Roop, Dublin. A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg conducted by the Rev. Richard H. Horne. The family will receive friends from 9 until 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Richardson-Horne Home, Christiansburg.

RUTHERFORD, Charlie Edgar, (""C.E.""), 55, of Radford, died Friday night, June 24, 1994, in a Charlottesville hospital. He was a long time employee of Duncan's Texaco Station. The funeral will be 1 p.m. today from the Richardson-Horne Chapel in Christiansburg with burial in Sunset Cemetery. Arrangements by Richardson-Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg.

THOMPSON, Margaret Lou, 83, of Salem, died, Saturday, June 25, 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Thompson who was retired from Leas McVitty. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, jimmie and Mary Thompson of Salem; a daughter, Gerri Poe of Winter Haven, Fla.; five grandchildren, Woodson Poe of Orlando, Fla., Jim Poe of Miami, Fla., Don Poe and Debra Harsh, both of Winter Haven, Fla., Mark Thompson of Salem; also four great-grandchildren, Skye and Kristin Poe, Callie Thompson and Gina Heatherly; a brother, A.M. Reynolds of Daleville; a special sister-in-law, Alice Reynolds of Salem. A graveside service will be held on Tyuesday June 28, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Keith Johnston officiating. The family will receive frie nds at the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home in Salem on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fort Lewis Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 446, Salem, Va. 24153. The family would like to thank Drs. Gene Godwin and Donald Williams for their many years of tender loving care expressed toward their family.

WADE, Ima Wade, 93, of Floyd, passed away Sunday, June 26, 1994, at Roanoke Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Levi B. Wade and Julia Cox Wade Agnew. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kyle J. Wade; two brothers, Kerry Wade and Verman Wade and a sister, Reva Williams. Mrs. Wade was member of Topeco Church of The Brethren. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Harry M. and Mary Edith Wade, Floyd, Bruce Wade, Floyd; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nelva and Calvin Gardner, Floyd, Betty and Bob Hower, Newark, Del.; two sisters, Mae Dickerson, Roanoke, Winnie Turner, Roanoke; one brother, Galen Wade, Salem; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, at Topeco Church of The Brethren with the Rev. Douglas Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Topeco Cemetery.
