MONTGOMERY HAS NEW SPECIAL ED DIRECTOR

This fall look for a new face roaming the halls of Montgomery County schools. The Montgomery County School Board has appointed Patricia Radcliffe as director of special education.

Radcliffe has been a special education teacher and coordinator in the county for the past three years. Before coming to the area, she taught in Campbell County and Williamsburg-James City County. In a statement released by Montgomery County Public Schools, Radcliffe said,

"I originally sought employment with Montgomery County Schools because the system had rejected a segregated program for educating children with disabilities. Instead, the system had created an educational environment that promoted equal value, equal worth, and equal rights for all students within an integrated setting. With the support and effort of all who are charged with educating students in Montgomery County, I am confident that the educational programs will continue to experience success."
