OFFICIAL GUILTY OF EMBEZZLEMENT

A former assistant county administrator in Rockbridge County pleaded guilty Monday to embezzling county money and obtaining money under false pretenses.

David Clinton Dudley entered guilty pleas to six counts of embezzlement, eight counts of grand larceny and one count of petty larceny.

He will be sentenced Sept.23 in Rockbridge County Circuit Court.

According to court records, Dudley obtained goods from retail stores for his personal use and charged them to the county. He also set up a dummy company, D&D Construction, and billed the county for services the company never rendered.
