\ REGINALD J. REYNOLDS and ANDRE G. SAUNDERS, both recent graduates of William Fleming High School, are winners of 1994 First Baptist Church/Alexander White scholarship awards.
The $500 scholarships, established by White's family in 1990 to commemorate his dedication to young people, are awarded to college-bound members of First Baptist Church, 310 N. Jefferson St.
White, who has no biological children, has been like a father to three generations of children.
Reynolds, the son of John and Shirley Reynolds, will attend Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Saunders, who plans to attend Ferrum College, is the son of Robert and Elizabeth Saunders, both members of the deacon board at the church.
\ ELIZABETH ROBYN PUGH, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tyler Pugh of Roanoke, recently graduated from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in art history, and is a graduate of North Cross School.
\ SONYA M. SMITH, daughter of Donald and Alice Smith of Fincastle, recently graduated from Bauder College in Atlanta, Ga. She received an associate of arts degree in interior design.
\ ANNA MARIA CARR and BETSY MARIE CUMBIE, both of Roanoke, graduated from Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, in December. Carr received a bachelor of arts degree in liberal studies, and Cumbie received a bachelor of science degree in nursing.
\ JEFF BRENEMAN, son of John and Lois Breneman of Roanoke, has been named to the dean's list at Cedarville College in Cedarville, Ohio. He is a 1993 graduate of Roanoke Valley Christian School.
\ MICHELLE VANIELS, daughter of Wally and Mary Lou Vaniels of Roanoke, received merit scholarships from Central Fidelity Bank and Phi Eta Sigma honorary fraternity. She is a student in the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. Vaniels has also been awarded an internship with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Washington D.C. for the summer.
\ JANE MARGARET O'BRIEN, president of Hollins College in Virginia, has been inducted to the University of Delaware Alumni Wall of Fame. She earned her Ph.D. from the College of Arts and Science at the university in 1981.
O'Brien serves on the board of directors of Norfolk Southern Corp. and the Virginia Institute of Political Leadership, as well as the executive board of the Kaleidoscope Project in Undergraduate Education, and the Commission on Women in Higher Education of the American Council of Education. She also received the 1990-91 Association of American Colleges International Fellowship.
The Wall of Fame is a photographic exhibit recognizing the professional achievements of outstanding alumni.
\ AMY PATTESON HOLTZ recently received a master of divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary. She is the youth director for Oakwood Memorial Baptist Church in Richmond.
\ LEN P. RITTBERG, son of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Rittberg of Roanoke, was named to the dean's list of Emory College at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga.
\ BETSY J. MILLER of Roanoke received an academic scholarship from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa. The scholarship is awarded to students in the upper 10th of their graduation class who show leadership potential. Miller is a Cave Spring High School graduate.
\ FLEMING-RUFFNER MAGNET SCHOOL recently won first place in a competition sponsored by the Roanoke Times & World-News. In the contest, teams of students were given $100,000 in computer money to invest in stocks to help develop their financial skills. The winning team members, under the direction of Judith Painter, were Jeremy Baldwin, Graham Field, Aaron Lee, Brent Elliott and Jayme Sawyer.
\ KARLA ONTIVEROS and KENDRA ONTIVEROS, daughters of Efren and Christine Ontiveros of Roanoke, were named to the dean's list at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.
\ MARK ERNST FELDMANN JR., son of Whitney Feldmann of Roanoke, received The Madison Scholarship from Hampden-Sydney College. The scholarship is reserved for the most outstanding member of each entering class, and is determined by the student's leadership, academic achievement and community service. Feldmann receives tuition, room and board and activities fees for four years. He is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School.
\ DEBORAH GEYER LYNN has been named to the Hollins College Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, Virginia Iota. Lynn recently received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Hollins and graduated with honors.

\ BEVERLEY HASKINS LOGAN, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph D. Logan III of Daleville, recently graduated from Episcopal High School in Alexandria. She will attend the University of the South (Sewanee) in the fall.
\ JULIE BAILEY and JOSEPH SCANLIN have recently received honors from James Madison University in Harrisonburg. Bailey, daughter of Jack Bailey of Salem, received the Crystal Theodore Service with Scholarship Award, given by the School of Art and Art History. Scanlin, of Roanoke, was honored as a Distinguished Military Student for initiative and leadership by the department of military science.
\ KATHRYN M. McGRATH, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel J. McGrath of Roanoke, has been awarded a 1994 Loews Foundation Special Scholarship. Recipients are chosen on the basis of test scores, academic records, leadership, significant extra- curricular activities and other requirements. McGrath is a recent graduate of Patrick Henry High School and plans to attend Roanoke College.
\ ERIC ROBERT MINTZ, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alan R. Mintz of Roanoke, was named to the dean's list at Washington and Lee University.
\ SUSAN R. KEENER, daughter of Donna and Kenneth Keener of Wilkesboro, N.C., recently graduated from Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pa. She received a bachelor's of arts degree in physics from Bryn Mawr College and astronomy at Haverford College.
