TOBACCO GROWERS NAMED TO PANEL

U.S. Agriculture Secretary Mike Espy has appointed four Southwest Virginia tobacco growers to the nation's Burley Tobacco Advisory Committee.

Newly named to the committee were Anna Mae Slemp of Dryden in Lee County and, as an alternate, Thomas Harry Arnold of Abingdon.

Reappointed to the 39-member committee were Cynthia Kaye Compton of Honaker in Russell County and, as an alternate, William Lee Hartsock of Castlewood. Reappointed to the committee representing warehousemen was George Alderson Bundy Jr. of Cedar Bluff in Tazewell County.
