The board of directors of the YWCA of Roanoke Valley recently elected five new officers.

Ginny Allison of Roanoke was elected president, and Ibby Greer of Rocky Mount was elected president-elect. Gloria Reiske was elected vice president for membership, and Terry Morrison was elected treasurer. Both are from Roanoke County.

Dolores Johns of Roanoke will continue to serve as YWCA secretary.

\ Lunch on Lawn raises nearly $20,000 this year

"Lunch on the Lawn," LOA Area Agency of Aging's annual fund-raiser for Meals-on-Wheels, raised nearly $20,000 at this year's fourth annual benefit for the local program.

Monies raised from the event will provide an additional 8,500 hot lunches annually for more than 700 elderly residents.
