STATLER BROS. HAVE THEIR DAY

Gov. George Allen has declared the Fourth of July, Monday, to be ``Statler Brothers Day'' throughout the commonwealth. Allen cited the music quartet's career achievements and loyalty to their hometown, Staunton.

Allen will participate in this year's final Happy Birthday USA Celebration in Staunton, and will ride horseback in the holiday parade.

The Happy Birthday USA Celebration began in 1970, when the Statler Brothers hosted the first event.
