BANDS TEAM FOR FREE CONCERT IN ROANOKE'S HIGHLAND PARK

Several local bands are joining together on Monday for an afternoon and evening show at the amphitheater stage in Highland Park in the Old Southwest section of Roanoke. Bands include Radar Rose, Oldentight, Red Weather and Animus. Also on the bill is Wendy Bucklew and Skin Horse from Atlanta. Organizers call the event an alternative to the Music for Americans concert at Victory Stadium.

The show is free and will run from 2 p.m. until dark.
