COFFEY, Henry M. Jr., (``Yodie""), 66, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, July 2, 1994 in the VA Medical Center, Salem. Born October 5, 1927, he was the son of the late Henry M. Coffey Sr. and Mollie Oliver Coffey. He retired after 32 years with Reaves Brothers. He was a member of the First Brethren Church, where he was the sound system operator and van driver. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 126. Surviving are three sisters, Georgie Louise Henson, Joyce Coffey, and Olga (Audie) Staton, all of Buena Vista; two brothers, Max O. Coffey, Lookout, W. Va., and Robert L. Coffey, Fairfield. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 1994, in the First Brethren Church, with the Rev. Lester Kennedy, the Rev. Paul Fink, and the Rev. Jesse Truax officiating. Intermen t will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 5, 1994, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Lomax Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Radio Ministry of the First Brethren Church, 100 E. 29th St., Buena Vista, Va. 24416.

COX, Charles Daniel III, 47, of Roanoke, died Saturday, July 2, 1994. He graduated from Virginia Tech and served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Cox joined Shenandoah Life in 1970 as an actuarial analyst and spent his entire career with the company. He earned his M.A. and M.S. from Northeastern University in Boston in 1973, and became a Fellow, Society of Actuaries in 1976. He moved up through the ranks of Shenandoah Life, becoming Assistant Actuary in 1973, Actuary--Individual Insurance in 1977, Vice President and Actuary in 1978, Vice President and Chief Actuary in 1982, Vic e President and Chief Financial Office in 1991, and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 1994. He had also served as a director and actuary of Old Dominion Life Insurance Company since 1982 and as Vice President of that company since 1986. Surviving are his wife, Linda P. Cox; two son, Christopher Daniel Cox and Sean Courtney Cox both of the home; a sister, Charlene Ferrin of Port St. Lucy, Fla.; two nephews, Ben March, Hawaii, Mike March, Raleigh, N.C.; niece, Gay Sidebottom, Kentucky. A memorial services will be conducted at Oakey's South Chapel 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 1994. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Virginia Tech Academics. The family will receive friends at Oakey's South Chapel both Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

DODD, Clinton E., 83, of Richmond, formerly of Roanoke died Saturday, July 2, 1994. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Dodd; son and daughter-in-law, Alton C. and Joanna C. Dodd; brother and sister-in-law, Douglas W. and Hattie L. Dodd and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Dodd was a retired insurance salesman with the Life of Virginia. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. in the Fairview Cemetery in Roanoke, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to the Masonic Home of Virginia or the Shriners Cripple Childrens Hospital. Morrissett Funeral Home in Richmond, Va. is handling arrangements.

DODGION, Earl Carlton, 65, of Route 1, Max Meadows, died Saturday, July 2, 1994 at his resident. He was a U. S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ward Dodgion, Max Meadows; one daughter, Brenda Sue Dodgion, Max Meadows; one son, Russell C. Dodgion, Gaithersburg, Md.; one sister, Ruth Dodgion Archer, Wytheville; and two brothers, Robert G. Dodgion, Naples, Fla., and Elbert H. Dodgion, Pulaski. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 1994, in the chapel of the Grubb Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Gary Dodgion, with interment to follow in the East End Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Grubb Funeral Home, Monday, from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Hospice of Wythe/Bland County. MULLINS, Roger Lee, 56, of Route 3, Bassett, died July 1, 1994, at the Martinsville Dialysis Facility. Born July 9, 1937, in Franklin County, he was a son of Letcher Mullins of Bassett, and the late Bernice Young Mullins. He was a member of Stanleytown Baptist Church. Also surviving are his wife, Pauline Mullins; two daughters, Mrs. Lyndell (Wanda) Martin, and Connie Mitchell, both of Collinsville; stepmother, Grace M. Mullins of Bassett; two sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Frances) Priddy of Martinsville, Mrs. Hassell (Betty) DeShazo of Ridgeway; two brothers, Billy Mullins of Callaway, Ricky Mullins of Henry; four grandchildren, Tristan Mullins, Shannon Mitchell, Felicia Martin, Jonathan Martin. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Stanleytown Baptist Church with the Rev. Edwin Moore officiating. Interment will be in Henry Memorial Park. OVERSTREET, Willie Henry Jr., 52, of Bedford, passed away Sunday, July 3, 1994, in Petersburg. He was born December 24, 1941, in Bedford County, a son of the late Willie H. Overstreet, Sr. and Emmie Ruff Overstreet. He was a veteran of Vietnam. He is survived by two brothers and sister-in-law, Jackson and Marilyn Overstreet, Patton and Carolyn Overstreet all of Bedford, Joseph and Ruby Overstreet, Troutville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ella and Roger Ruff, Rose and Larry Creasy all of Bedford. A graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, July 5, 1994, at 11 a.m. from the Dooley Family Cemetery, by the Rev. Dallas Bennett. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford.

PADGETT, Richard Edward, 81, of Natural Bridge Station, died Sunday, July 3, 1994 in the Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount. Mr. Padgett was born in Rockbridge Co., on February 14, 1913, a son of the late Albert Alexander and Ada Huffman Padgett. He was a member of the Natural Bridge Baptist Church, and was a veteran of World War II, serving as a Staff Sergeant in the Battles of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe, and was awarded the EAME Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal and American Theatre Service Medal. Mr. Padgett is survived by four nephews and seven nieces. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 1994 in the Harrison Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Edward F. Rigg officiating. Burial to follow in the Natural Bridge Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Patsy Hickman and on Monday night from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.

PALMER, Myrtis Hodges, 84, of Roanoke, died Saturday, July 2, 1994. She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church and the Woodmen of the World. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Betty D. Crouch, Asheboro, N. C.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 1994 at Evergreen Burial Park, with the Rev. Wayne Clay Harrison officiating. The family will receive friends at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

PARKER, Roselin Kermeen, 55, of Roanoke, died Friday, July 1, 1994. She worked in the Deli Dept. at the Cave Spring Corners Kroger Store and was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Parker. Surviving are a daughter and son- in-law, Kathy and Jim Early, Gainesville, Ga.; a stepson, Bill Parker, Houston, Texas; a granddaughter, Katie Leigh Early; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Jim Gourdie, Ashburton, New Zealand, Kathy and John Richan, Coomera, Australia, Shirley and Bernie Hudson, Roanoke; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. TURNER, Ronald Eugene, 47, of Suffolk, died Sunday, July 3, 1994 at his residence, after a long illness. Mr. Turner was born June 1, 1947 in Pearisburg, Va. and moved to the Tidewater area in 1974,. He is an honor graduate of the State University of N. Y. and Thomas Nelson Community College. He graduated as a Governor's Virginia Scholar from Old Dominion University, where he was a member of Phi Tau Sigma Engineering Honor Fraternity and Instructional Assistant. His career included service in the U. S. Army Reserves Special Forces Unit, worked as an aircraft pilot at Executive Flight Service in Tulsa, Okla., a helicopter pilot for Petroleum Helicopters International in Morgan City, La., and service as a professional firefighter in Richmond and Newport News, Va. He retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where he was a nuclear engineer. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association. He was also a diver. Survivors include his wife, Dr. Pamela D. Turner, Suffolk; his mother, Lois V. Garrett, Pearisburg; maternal grandmother, Velma C. Garrett, Big Island; three nephews and seven nieces. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens, Lexington, Va. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, Suffolk, is handling arrangements.
