ARTISTS SOUGHT FOR RESIDENCIES

The Virginia Commission for the Arts will be selecting qualified artists to be added to the commission's residency program roster. The roster will include artists in the fields of architecture, crafts, creative writing (fiction or poetry), dance, film and video, folk arts, music, theater and the visual arts.

The Artists-in-Education Residency Program artist roster is used by schools and other organizations to identify and select artists for participation in the commission's residency programs.

Only those artists selected for inclusion on the roster are eligible to be considered by a school for participation in a commission-funded residency. All participating schools or arts organizations are required to select residency artists from the roster. However, inclusion on the roster does not guarantee participation in a residency program.

For an application, write to the Virginia Commission for the Arts, 223 Governor St., Lewis House (2nd Floor), Richmond, Va., 23219, or call (804) 225-3132 for further information. Application deadline is Sept. 1 by 5 p.m.
