BRYANT, Rose Birch, of Roanoke, died Friday, July 8, 1994, at her home. Mrs. Bryant was a member of First Church of the Brethren and was preceded in death by her parents, James E. and Maggie Belle Birch; her husband, Leo L. Bryant; one daughter, Catherine Dowdy. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Beatrice B. and Harry W. Cronise, Roanoke; one grandson; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; two half sisters. He was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church and is survived by his wife, Pauline Clark Dudley, Buchanan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Eva and Preston McDaniel, Troutville, Rebecca and Bobby Harden, New Castle; one son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Linda Dudley, Daleville; one sister, Bertha Dudley, Buchanan; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. FISHER, Albert Dewayne, 72, of Ripplemead, died Saturday morning July 9, 1994, in a Pearisburg hospital. Born in Craig County on August 8, 1921, he was a son of the late Charlie and Melissa Martin Fisher. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Virginia Lime Co. He was a brother of the late Steward and Leroy Fisher. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Ruth Cruise Fisher; four sons, Robert D. Fisher, William G. Fisher, Phillip L. Fisher and Terry L. Fisher; one daughter, Brenda Day; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Velma Fisher. Funeral services will be conducted Monday July 11, 1994, 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel in Pembroke with burial in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. FULK, Clarence W., 80, of Roanoke, died Friday July 8, 1994 at his home. Mr. Fulk was retired from Jewel Tea Company in 1961 and Northwest Hardware in 1992. He was a member of Huntington Court United Methodist Church and the Crusaders Sunday School Class. Surviving are his wife, Ruby D. Fulk; daughters, Joyce F. Witt, Phyllis F. Zorn; grandson, Wes Zorn, all of Roanoke; brother, Carlton Fulk and wife, Elah, N.C.; sisters, Alma Rakes, Roanoke, Ila Davis, Ethel Eaton and husband, Wilbur, Lillie Mae Hales and husband, Andrew, all of N.C.; a number of nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Lewis Dillon and wife, Pauline, Roanoke, Levi Dillon and wife, Ava, Providence Forge; sisters-in-law, Ida Craft, Moneta, Betty Robertson and husband, Scotty, Moneta. GRUBB, Ella Mae, (``Pete""), 85, of Roanoke, died Friday, July 8, 1994. She was a daughter of the late Claude and Mollie Wohlford, Wythe County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie W. HENSON, Loyall Dedrah, 73, of Buena Vista, died at his Rockbridge County residence Friday, July 8, 1994. Born in Rockbridge County on June 3, 1921, he was the son of the late Arthur Henson and Cora Henson. He was a World War II veteran and retired from Lee Carpets. He was a member of the First Brethren Church. Survivors include his wife, Cecil Lawhorn Henson, Rockbridge County; daughter and son-in-law, Penny and James Irvine, Buena Vista; daughter, Cindy Henson, Lexington; two sisters, Ora Taylor and Nettie Simpson, both of Buena Vista; two grandsons. HERZIG, Claude Swanson, 74, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, July 9, 1994, in the Veterans Medical Center in Salem. Mr. Herzig was born in Prince Edward County on November 18, 1919, a son of the late Albert Herzig and Ellie Hodd Herzig. He was a World War II Army veteran, severing during the invasion of Normandy. Mr. Herzig was employed with R.A.A.P. for 27 years as a tool and die maker and was also employed with Wolverine for 10 years. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Price Herzig; two sons, David Arthur Herzig, Prices Fork, Glen Albert Herzig, Alexandria; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Louise H. and Lewis Duval, Keysville, Emma H. Blankenship, Leona, Texas, Thelma Lois Hayer, Burkville; one brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Trudy Herzig, Meherrin. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, July 11, at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Charles Dean officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. KEITH, Warren Posie Norman, 73, of Floyd, passed away Friday July 8, 1994, at the V.A. Medical Center in Salem. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include two sons, Warren Wilbur Keith, Bon Air, Stuart Morrison, Gallipolis Ferry, W.Va.; one brother, Selma John Keith, Floyd; one sister, Lillian Minch, Portland, Ind.; special friends, Hassell and Bonnie Dickerson, Floyd; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. KING, Eralee Wilson, 81, of Roanoke, died Friday, July 8. 1994. Mrs. King was the widow of Raymond Oliver King and is survived by two sons, Robert W. King, Roanoke, Kirwan M. LIPTRAP, Vera Virginia Pearcey, 77, of Roanoke County, died Friday, July 8, 1994 in a local hospital. She was the daughter of the late Will Tom and Dola Layman Pearcey. Surviving is her husband, James William Liptrap Jr.; one sister, Baree Pearcey, Roanoke County. Mrs. Liptrap was a member of Rockingham Court United Methodist Church. Services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 11. The Rev. Don McCaskill will officiate. Interment will follow in Fair View Cemetery. MARTIN, Dollie Myrtle, 74, of Christiansburg, died Saturday morning, July 9, 1994 in a Shawsville nursing home. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Stanger and is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ratliff and Pamela Taylor, both of Riner; a son, Robert B. Martin of Christiansburg; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Hilltop Cemetery near Riner, conducted by the Rev. Michael Bond. Friends may call at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday. The family will receive friends there from 2 until 5 Sunday afternoon. There will be no evening visitation.

MCGUIRE, John Orie, (Mickey), 80, of Moneta, passed away Saturday, July 9, 1994, in a local hospital. He was a retired building contractor. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Waldron McGuire; two sons Wayne McGuire of Vinton, Barney McGuire of Moneta; three daughters, Joyce Saunders of Stewartsville, Sandra Clemmer of Roanoke, Sue Feazell of Moneta; three sisters, Esther Simmons, Ruth Hutchinson, both of Roanoke, Gladys Angle of Hardy; also 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held noon Tuesday July 12, 1994 from the Lotz Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Steve Parker and the Rev. Berkley Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. MCNEIL, Bobby L., of Locust Grove, Ga., passed away July 6, 1994. Mr. McNeil was born on October 21, 1932, in Roanoke, Va. While in Virginia he worked for Roanoke Redi Mix Concrete, Fuel Oil Equipment, and Blue Ridge Transfer. Mr. McNeil retired from Coca-Cola with 29 years of experience as a truck driver. He then became patrol officer with Locust Grove, McDonough, and Henry County Sheriff's Posse. Mr. McNeil was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Issac Newton McNeil, who operated I.N. McNeil Roofing and Sheet Metal in Roanoke. Mr. McNeil is survived by wife, Mrs. Rosie L. McNeil; children, Mr. Floyd Lee McNeil of Locust Grove, Mrs. Kathy Combs of Locust Grove, Mrs. Anna Tuck of Hampton, Ga. and Mrs. Barbara Olinger of Locust Grove; mother, Mrs. Nettie McNeil; brothers, Mr. Rodney Ware McNeil, Mr. Kenneth Wayne McNeil, and Mr. Glen Dale McNeil all of Roanoke; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, from Philippi Baptist Church with remains placed in state at 1:30. The Rev. Joey Seabolt, Rev. Ken Godfrey, and Rev. Mike Roper will officiate. OSBORNE, John Henry, 77, of Rugby, died Saturday, July 9, 1994, in Smyth County Community Hospital. Mr. Osborne was a veteran of World War II. He attended the Volney Baptist Church and was a farmer and resident of the Rugby Community. He is survived by his wife, Jessie Ruth Pugh Osborne, Rugby; one daughter and son-in-law, Christine ``Marie"" and Robert C. Taylor, Bristol, Va.; one son and daughter-in-law, Henry ``Morris"" and Freida Osborne, Marion; one sister, Laura Lambert, West Jefferson, N.C.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 11 at 11 a.m., Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Douglas Halsey and Rev. Camet Halsey officiating . THOMPSON, Maggie Grubb, 66, of Salem, passed away Friday, July 8, 1994, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church, Salem. She is preceded in death by her husband Earl S. Thompson. WITT, Margaret Trew, 68, of Ocala, Fla., passed away suddenly Friday July 8, 1994. Mrs. Witt was born and raised in Roanoke. She is survived by her husband, Roy Witt, Ocala; sons, Eddie Witt, Bira, Calif., Ronnie and daughter-in-law, Judy Witt, Warwick, R.I.; granddaughters, Megan and Gretchen Witt; sisters, Opal T. WRAY, Camilla Davis, 81, of Buena Vista, died Friday July 8, 1994 in Oakwood Manor, Bedford. Born in Amherst on July 30, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Joe S. Davis and Ollie Napier Davis. She was a member of the Buena Vista Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Lewis Wray, Sr. Survivors include a son, Harvey L Wray, Jr., Big Island; a sister, Georgie D. Chittum, Baltimore, Md.; a brother, Gorman Davis, Baltimore, Md.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
