Roanoke police found 60 windows smashed at Jackson Middle School, 1022 Ninth St. S.E., at 5:23 a.m. Sunday. Youth bureau detectives are investigating the incident, which caused an estimated $2,000 in damage.

In another incident over the weekend, a 28-year-old Rocky Mount woman was robbed as she walked along the 600 block of Day Avenue Southwest. She told police that about 2 p.m. Saturday a man in his 20s grabbed her by the throat and pulled her into the hallway of an apartment complex. The man demanded her money and took $30.
