Because of a reporter's error, the Bedford police officer who responded to an alarm at Dave's Sports Shop was misidentified in a story Tuesday. The correct person was Officer M.G. Linton.

\ William Alfred Manspile Jr. is an employee of Manspile Painting Co. of Roanoke. Because of a reporter's error, a story on Saturday's Business page concerning his petition for bankruptcy protection incorrectly identified him as the company's owner.
