Susan Garland was elected president of the Beta Delta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha.
Other new officers are: Shelby Hodges, vice president and secretary; Gaynell Harless, treasurer; Shirley Krista, parliamentarian; and Jo Reedy, junior past president.
The chapter recently presented awards to Dustin Chewning, Outstanding Youth; Janne Joy, Diana Award; and Jo Reedy, Woman of the Year.
The chapter also received state awards including: second place for Outstanding Chapter; first place in the scrapbook and yearbook categories; second place in education, history and rushing; and third place in the First Pearl category.
Roanoker elected club officer
Shelby Paisley Hamlett of Roanoke was recently elected 1994-96 second vice president of the General Federation of Women's Clubs.
Hamlett has been a member of the organization for more than 30 years, and has served it on both state and national levels.
Business women's group elects officers
Judith Beattie was recently elected president of the Roanoke Valley Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association - Retired.
Other new officers are: Janice Wright, vice president; Henrietta Pannell, recording secretary; Martha Worrell, corresponding secretary; and Mary Alys Crowder, treasurer.
