IRONTO HOME DESTROYED BY FIRE

An afternoon fire destroyed a mobile home in Ironto on Thursday.

Elliston Fire Chief M.L. Wells said Lee and Connie Brown's home at 3049 Flatwoods Road caught fire about 3 p.m.

Wells said Connie Brown came home, turned on the air conditioner and went outside. Shortly after that, Brown heard popping sounds, then saw that her home was on fire.

Wells said he was investigating the cause and that he wasn't sure if the air conditioner could have sparked a blaze.
