TAMPA BAY SIGNS PYNE

Former Virginia Tech All-American center Jim Pyne signed a two-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday.

Pyne, drafted in the sixth round of the NFL draft on May 25, received a $22,000 signing bonus. He will get $108,000 for this season and $135,000 for the 1995-96 season.

``Jim is anxious to get down there and get to work and get a chance to get a starting position,'' said Tony Agnone, Pyne's agent.

Tampa Bay's training camp opens July 24 at the University of Tampa in Tampa, Fla. A weeklong minicamp for rookies begins Monday.
