BRAMMER, Kyle Joseph, 72, of Christiansburg, died Thursday morning, July 14, 1994, at his home. The funeral will be 2 p.m. today from the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Rev. Richard Kingrea with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The body is at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to New River Valley Hospice, Box 10896, Blacksburg, Va. 24060. Arrangements by Richardson-Horne.

BROOKS, Ertha Hester, 81, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, July 15, 1994. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.

DEACON, Millard L., 84, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, July 15, 1994, in a local hospital. He was a member of the Coopers Cove Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II, and a retired truck driver with the C C Bova Produce Company. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Della Mae Deacon; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Houston Looney, Vinton; two grandchildren, Heather and Brian Looney, Vinton; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Kincaid of Buckhannon, W.Va., Mrs. Gertrude Hartless, Buena Vista; two brothers, Gilmore Deacon, Covington, Edward Deacon, Lexington; his aunt, Beulah Fulcher, Roanoke; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Vinton Chapel 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Sam Crews offiating. Interment will be in the Rapps Mill Cemetery in Rockbridge County. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.

DRAPER, John R., 91, of Roanoke, died Friday, July 15, 1994. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Austin Draper. Mr. Draper was a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church and retired from Roanoke City Schools. Surviving are his daughter, Cynthia Ann Draper, Roanoke; brother, Harry Draper, Martinsville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the building fund at North Roanoke Baptist Church, 6402 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019. Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Monday, at Oakey's North Chapel by Dr. Darryl G. Crim. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's North Chapel.

MOTLEY, Charles Anthony, 45, of Lanham, Md., formerly of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 1994. Survivors include two sons, Stephen and Sterling Motley; mother, Hazel Motley; father and stepmother, Buford C. Sr. and Barbara Motley; two brothers, Carl E. Motley and Buford Motley Jr.; one sister, Judith P. Motley; devoted cousin, Bertha Mae McGeorge; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the J.B. Jenkins Chapel, 7474 Landover Drive, Landover, Md.

PALMER, Thelma Lee, 86, of Staffordsville, died Thursday, July 14, 1994 in a Pearisburg hospital. She was born November 10, 1907 in Mercer County, W. Va., the daughter of the late Clark and Virginia Meadows Fitzwater. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Clopton Palmer and two sons, Cosmo Palmer and Boyd Palmer. She was a member of the New Village Pentecostal Holiness Church for the past 41 years. She is survived by four sons, Clarence Palmer, Edmon Palmer and Frederick Palmer, all of Staffordsville, Roger Palmer, Rockville, Md.; four daughters, Mrs. Virginia Nabors, Radford, Mrs. Jean Saunders and Mrs. Nancy Stump, both of Staffordsville, Mrs. Rose Neal, Narrows; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Leslie Shelton and the Rev. John Hash officiating. Burial in Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m.

PRICE, Merle S., 82, of Radford, died Thursday, July 14, 1994, in a Radford hospital. He was a retired employee of Radford College and a veteran of World War II. Surviving are a sister, Virginia Price, Key West, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Harry Price, Radford; a foster niece, Jennifer Nester and her son, Harry Bugg, Dublin. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunrise Burial Park, Radford. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home.

SAYERS, Inis Copeland, 76, of Riverview Apartments, Fries, died Friday morning, July 15, 1994 at Twin County Community Hospital, Galax. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, John and June Sayers, Snowville, and Richard Sayers, San Diego, Calif.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Curley Vaughan, Fries, Iris and Bower Dickson, Lowgap, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Maggie Copeland, Fieldale; one grandchild, Michael Sayers, Snowville; special nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sayers was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Sayers; and three brothers. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow in Fries Cemetery. SMITH, Vinnie Ola, 95, of Vinton, died Wednesday, July 13, 1994 in Berkshire Nursing Home, Vinton. She was the daughter of the late William Steve and Alice Robertson Sink. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jacob (Jake) Smith; her daughter, Janie Smith Perdue; her son, William S. Smith. Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Rhoda Mae and Troy Hudson, Vinton; Mary Dillon, Fla.; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Roy and Marie Smith, Wirtz, Euber J. and Lena Smith, Rocky Mount, John Daniel Smith, Fla., Allen and Lois Smith, Roanoke; one sister, Hessie Dillon, Wirtz; four half sisters, Murphy Howell and Zula Hager both of Roanoke, Donnie Sherman, Md., Lois Painter, Tampa, Fla.; tw o half brothers, A.M. (Obrey) Sink, Rocky Mount, John (Forman) Sink, Roanoke; numerous grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 16, 1994 at 11 a.m. at Lynch Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Larry Hollandsworth officiating. Burial will follow in Crossroads Primative Baptist Church Cemetery, Wirtz. SOWERS, Charlie O., 70, of Christiansburg, died Wednesday evening, July 13, 1994 at his home. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. today from the Huffville Church with burial in the Huffville Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the services. Arrangements are being handled by Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.

STONE, Champ Sr. 68, of Tazewell, died Thursday, July 14, 1994, in a Bluefield Hospital. He was born in Warfield, Ky., and was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Sadie Vanover Stone. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Brown Stone. Survivors include his wife, Pearlie Water Stone; three sons, Charles J. Stone and Gary Stone, both of Tazewell, and Champ Stone Jr., Christiansburg; three daughters, Karen Stone Johnson, Claypool Hill , Susan Stone Townley, Bluefield, W.VA., and Melissa Stone Large, Tazewell; seven brothers, Nile Stone, Sissonville, W.Va., J.C. Stone, Virginia Beach, Bill Stone, Abbs Valley, Bob Stone, Matewan, W.VA., Ken Stone, Orient, Ohio, Jeff Stone Jr., Columbus, Ohio, and Larry Wayne Stone, Goshen; three sisters, Helen Collier, Columbus, Ohio, Hollean Boyd, Sword Creek, and Marie Pell, Arrarat; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 17 at 2 p.m. at the Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell with the Rev. Eddie Nash and the Rev. Bill Melzoni officiating. Burial will follow at the Grandview Memory Gardens on the Bluefield-Tazewell Rd. Military graveside rites will be conducted by members of the Barnes-Beaver V.F.W. Post #7136 of Tazewell.
