GAYLORD PERRY PITCHING TONIGHT IN GAME AT SALEM

Hall of Fame pitcher Gaylord Perry will headline the old-timers' team that will take on a squad of media figures 5:15 p.m. tonight at Salem Municipal Field.

The game, in its eighth year, will serve as a preliminary event to the 7 p.m. Carolina League baseball game between the host Salem Buccaneers and the Frederick Keys.

Joining Perry on the Old Timers' team will be former big-leaguers Al Holland of Roanoke, Ron Hodges of Rocky Mount and Jim Holt.

Perry, who won 314 games and Cy Young awards in both leagues, will be available to sign autographs after the old-timers' game. - Staff report
