Jordan-Duffield

Kristina Jane Duffield and Charles W. Jordan were married July 16, 1994, in Melrose Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry E. Sprouse officiating. The reception was held at the Roanoke Marriott. The maid of honor was Ashley Carter. The bridesmaids were Teresa Monour, Erin Duffield, cousins of the bride; Rachael Campbell and Jennifer Snyder. The flowergirls were Mary Burns and Brittany Cook. The best man was the groom's father, Butch Jordan. The ushers were Kristopher Duffield and Scott Duffield, the bride's brothers; William Hickson and Derek Watson. The ringbearer was Zachary Burns. The guestbook was attended by Debra Belcher. The brides gown was made of ivory shantung silk with portrait neckline that fell to a natural waist. The shoulders were accented with pearls and clear sequins and the short sheath skirt was detailed with a detachable chapel train that was accented with bows and roses of ivory. The headpiece of matching illusion fell from a bow with scalloped edges. She carried champagne roses. The bride is the daughter of Ken and Linda Duffield of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School. The groom is the son of Butch and Marcella Jordan of Roanoke. He is a graduate of Northside High School and is in the U.S. Army. The newlyweds will live in Ft. Knox, Kentucky.

\ Klingelhofer-Wyatt

Peter Elliott Klingelhofer of Baltimore, Md., and Elizabeth Dale Wyatt of Radford, Va., were united in marriage Saturday, June 25, 1994, at 7:00 p.m. in Lee Chapel on the Washington and Lee University Campus, Lexington, Va. The groom's uncle, Rev. Dr. John D. Copenhaver, Jr., of Stephens City, Va., officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jon T. Wyatt of Radford. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Kathleen Wyatt and the late Mr. J. C. Wyatt and Mrs. Helen Trigg and the late Mr. L. B. Trigg, all of Radford.

The groom is the son of Mr. Carroll Sharp Klingelhofer III and Mrs. Mary Stone Klingelhofer, both of Baltimore. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Klingelhofer, Sr., of Baltimore and Mr. and Mrs. John D. Copenhaver of Roanoke.

The organist was Mr. William McCorkle, Jr., and the vocalist was Dr. Gordon Spice, both of Lexington, Va.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a formal gown of candlelight bridal satin with a sweetheart neckline. Pearls and silver and crystal beads were delicately appliqued over Alencon lace. The drop waist flowed into a skirt of ivory organza over satin with lettuce edge hem. The detachable cathedral train was of organza with Alencon lace edging. Her headpiece was a wreath of beaded lace with small roses and Austrian crystals.

The maid of honor was Miss Dawn Michelle Dillon of Winston-Salem, N. C. Bridesmaids were Miss Laura Lee Kinney of Charleston, S. C.; Miss Mary Taylor Klingelhofer, sister of the groom of Baltimore, Md.; Miss DeAnna Jon Wyatt of Radford and Miss Mary Branch Wyatt of Fredericksburg, Va., both sisters of the bride.

The father of the groom was the best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Kevin Anthony Bauer of New York, N. Y.; Mr. Christian Emerson Dysart of Raleigh, N. C.; Mr. Allen Mead Ferguson of Richmond, Va.; and Mr. Joseph Lilburn Trigg of Radford, cousin of the bride. Special readings were delivered by the groom's cousins, Mr. John Lawrence Cotton and Mr. Benjamin Warren Cotton of Charleston, S. C.

Following the ceremony, the parents of the bride hosted a reception at the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity House at Washington and Lee University. Assisting by serving the cake were Mrs. Anne Booth of Charlottesville, Va., cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Ann Cotton of Charleston, S. C., aunt of the groom. The guest register was attended by Mrs. Carol Trigg of Radford, aunt of the bride.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at Maple Hall, Lexington, Va.

Following the wedding trip to St. John, Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Storrs, Conn.

\ Krauser-Reese

Sandy Jo Reese and Todd David Krauser were married Saturday, July 2, 1994 in the Life Line Ministries Church in Hot Springs, Virginia. The officiating clergyman was the Reverend B. Failes, Dumfries United Methodist Church. The reception was held at The Homestead's Crystal Room. The maid of honor was Jennifer Cheavens. The bridesmaids were Jennifer Owen, Jennifer Vinson, Natalie Moore and Ashley Lucas. Flowergirl was Amanda Cleveland, cousin of the bride. The best man was Scott Krauser, brother of the groom. The groomsmen were John Allen, William Wylie, Christian Parrish and Michael Reese, brother of the bride. Ringbearer was Patrick Cleveland, cousin of the bride.

The bride's gown was a Demetrios design sheath gown of white Italian satin embellished with hand-beaded schiffli lace with a full detachable chapel length train. She carried an arm bouquet of silk white roses accented with pearls|

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Reese of Hot Springs, formerly of Botetourt County and the granddaughter of Lucille Walker of Salem and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Reese, Sr. of Christiansburg. She is a graduate of James Madison University. The bridegroom, son of Dr. and Mrs. David Krauser of Scotrun, Pennsylvania, is a graduate of James Madison University. The bride and groom are employed by Woodward and Lothrop in Northern Virginia. The newlyweds will live in Alexandria.

\ Laughmiller-Rushton

VIRGINIA BEACH - Andrea Francine Rushton and Lance Sullivan Laughmiller were joined in marriage June 18, 1994, at Providence Presbyterian Church in a ceremony officiated by Rev. Kenneth Hicks and Rev. Larry Shoaf.

A reception honoring the couple followed in the church fellowship hall.

Margaret Shu served as maid of honor to the bride. Bridesmaids were Marie Dugan, Susan Keil, Cindy Marshall and Stacy Poole, and honorary bridesmaids were the bride's cousins, Kay Ayers, Barbara Darnell and Sharon McCullough. Aubrey McCullough, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.

The groom's best man was Tim Locklear. Groomsmen included Jay Laughmiller, brother of the groom; Jeff Layne, Keith Murrill and Eric Quiram. Rodney Bodamer and Erik Moltzan served as ushers.

The bride is the daughter of Sandra Sisson Rushton of Virginia Beach, formerly of Roanoke, and Edward Watson Rushton, Jr., of Roanoke. She is the granddaughter of Frances Firebaugh Sisson of Virginia Beach and the late Ralph Weldon Sisson, and Dr. Edward Watson Rushton, Jr., of Orangeburg, S. C., and the late Mrs. Lucille Roddey Rushton. The bride is a graduate of Green Run High School and James Madison University.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Sullivan Laughmiller of Norfolk, and the grandson of retired Major and Mrs. Joseph Dock Hinesley, Sr., of Huntsville, Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Sullivan Laughmiller. He graduated from Norfolk Christian High School and Virginia Tech, and is employed by Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Atlantic Division.

Following a wedding trip to Jamaica, the newlyweds will reside in Virginia Beach.

\ Lester-Bell

STUART, VA. - Shawn Elizabeth Bell and Mark Alan Lester were married July 16, 1994, in Stuart Baptist Church, Stuart, Va., with Dr. Rod Mays, cousin of bride, and Rev. James Churchwell officiating. The reception was held in the church fellowship hall. The maid of honor was Sherry Bell, sister of bride. Bridesmaids were Carolyn Bell, sister-in-law of bride, Kelli Bell, niece of bride, Loana Lacy, cousin of bride, and Caren Harvey, friend of bride. Michael Lester, father of groom, served as best man. Ushers included Richard Powell, friend of groom, Marvin Lester, Jr., and Jack Ratcliff, uncles of groom, and Tim Bell, brother of bride. Kory Bell, nephew of bride, was ring bearer. The unity candlelighters were fathers of the bride and groom. The guestbook was attended by Nancy Shelton, friend of bride, and Kim Ratcliff, niece of groom. A program of wedding music was provided by Cecil M. Akers, Jr., organist, and Rebecca Nowlin, pianist. Vocalists were Debbe Mays and Sharon Walthall. Sound systems specialist was Frank Netherland and music coordinator was Margaret Witt. The wedding director was Brenda McHone. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Bell of Stuart, Va. She graduated from Patrick County High School, Stuart, Va., and from Carson-Newman College, Jefferson City, Tenn., with a B.A. in English. She is employed by Alleghany Community Services as Quality Assurance Specialist. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lester of Rich Creek, Va. He graduated from Narrows High School and Radford University where he received a B.S. in Chemistry. He is employed by Grace Dearborn Paper Industry Services. The newlyweds will live in Fincastle, Va., after a wedding trip to New Orleans, La., and the gulf coast of Florida.

\ McMahan-Gregory

Vivien Gean Gregory and Timothy Dean McMahan were married on Saturday, July 16, 1994, at Mt. View Christian Church in New Castle. The double ring ceremony was performed by Reverend James Morris. A reception was held at the home of the bride's father following the ceremony.

Mrs. Laura Mayo served Vivien as her matron of honor. Ms. Lisa Hall, Ms. Kimberly Reynolds and Ms. Jessica Huffman served as bridesmaids. Heather Graham, niece of the bride, served as flower girl. Mrs. Victoria Frango attended the bride's book. Music was provided by soloist Melonie Mann accompanied by pianist Karen Reynolds. The wedding director was Ms. Beth Swaine.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and blessed in marriage by her parents.

Michael McMahan of New Castle served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Neal Gregory, brother of the bride, along with Mark and Brett McPherson, cousins of the groom. Daniel Graham of Catawba, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer.

Vivien is the daughter of Linnie Gregory of Craig County, June Gregory of Roanoke and Margaret and Ralph Riggs of Salem. She is the granddaughter of Robert and Eugenia Fitzer of Cedar Bluff, Va., Beverly Gregory of Roanoke and the late Liniel Gregory. She is a 1993 graduate of Craig County High School and is attending Virginia Western Community College. She is employed by the Homeplace Restaurant.

Timothy is the son of Donald and Betty June McMahan of New Castle. He is a 1986 graduate of New Castle High School and National Business College. He is employed by Elizabeth Arden.

The couple will reside in New Castle.

\ Rollings-Shockley

Dora Rena' Shockley and Robert James Rollings were married July 16, 1994, in Brookhill Baptist Church, with Pastor Elwood McAllister and Pastor Wilmar Wegner officiating. The maid of honor was DeAnna Shockley, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Tameka Perdue and Pam Edwards, friends of the bride; Cindy Shockley, sister-in-law of the bride; and Gwen Rollings, sister of the groom. Flowergirl was Katie Graham, 2nd cousin of the bride. The best man was Jeff Rollings, brother of the groom. The ushers were Jimmy Shockley, brother of the bride; Scott Rollings, brother of the groom; Mark Hoggard and Chris Miller, friends of the groom. The guestbook was attended by Micky and Melissa Gross. The groom is the son of Ralph and Edith Rollings of Portsmouth. He is a graduate of Heritage Christian Academy and Tidewater Community College. He is employed by J.E. Whitlow, Jr. & Sons, Inc. The newlyweds will live in Chesapeake, Va.

\ Rusmisel-Roche

Debra Michelle Roche and Charles Eugene Rusmisel were married July 16, 1994, in Colonial Avenue Baptist Church. Reverend Jerry Turner performed the ceremony. The reception was held at the Sheraton Inn Airport.

The matron of honor was Stephanie Meacham Grindstaff, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Nancy Rusmisel Mitchell, sister of the groom, Melissa Campbell Doll, Beth Duff, and Elizabeth Lynch, friends of the bride. Junior bridesmaids were Rhonada Rusmisel, sister of the groom, and Lauren Gross, friend of the bride.

The best man was David Rusmisel, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Patrick Rusmisel, brother of the groom, Captain Michael Shinners, Jay Herd, friends of the groom, and Chip Roche, brother of the bride.

The guestbook was attended by Kellee Roche Rumbough, cousin of the bride.

Debra is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Roche. She graduated from Cave Spring High School, Virginia Western Community College and Radford University. She is a teacher with Roanoke County Schools.

Charles is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond L. Rusmisel. He graduated from Cave Spring High School, Virginia Western Community College and Virginia Tech. He is employed by First Union Bank.

After a southern Caribbean cruise, Charlie and Debbie will reside in Roanoke.

\ Stanley-Ratcliffe

Cynthia Jean Ratcliffe and Charles Austin Stanley were married June 25, 1994 at Bethany Christian Church. The Reverend John Dunstan officia ted the 7:00 pm candlelight ceremony. The reception was held at the Holiday Inn-Airport.

The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Buford Stanley. The matron of honor was Sandy Lingle, friend of the bride. Tammie Stanley, sister of the groom, was the bridesmaid.

The best man was Jack Stanley, father of the groom. The ushers were Chris Colston and Mike Bowers, friends of the groom.

The guestbook was attended by Sandy Garst, friend of the bride and the guest programs were attended by Shannon Brown and Devon Brown, cousins of the groom. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Rita Duke.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Helen S. Ratcliffe and the late Mr. Emmett E. Ratcliffe. She is a graduate of Radford University and Virginia Tech and is employed by the Roanoke City Public Schools. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jack Stanley. He attended Virginia Tech and is employed by Moore's Building Supplies.

After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico the couple will reside in Roanoke.

\ Tate-Corker

Shelley Louise Corker and Lt. David John Tate, Jr. were united in marriage on February 19, 1994 in Blacksburg Baptist Church. Dr. Ray Allen was the officiating clergyman. The reception was held at Donaldson Brown Center, Virginia Tech.

Laura Elizabeth Sheppard, friend of the bride, was the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Barbara Carneal, friend of the bride; Emily Corker and Jessica Corker, cousins of the bride; Lori Jokinen and Jackie Elliott, cousins of the groom. Elora Davis, cousin of the groom, was the flowergirl. Ensign Mathew A. Tate, USN, brother of the groom, served as best man. The ushers were Billie Corker and Jeff Corker, brothers of the bride; Russell Tate and Steven Tate, brothers of the groom; Jonathan Corker and Britton Corker, nephews of the bride. Linda Corker, sister-in-law of the bride, was the guestbook attendant.

Prelude music was provided by Elizabeth Dechent, harpist. Vocalist was Terri Corker, aunt of the bride. The wedding coordinator was Aimee Hughes. The reception coordinator was Bonnie Maccubbin of Donaldson Brown Center, Va. Tech. The bride carried a cascading bouquet of Gardenias, Stephanotis, Roses and Italian Ruscus, designed by Jimmy Tickle.

The bride is the daughter of Bill and Lee Corker of Blacksburg, Va. She is a graduate of North Canton Hoover High School, Ohio, and Radford University, and is employed by SSDS, Inc., Computer Networking. The groom is the son of Dave and Sandy Tate of North Canton, Ohio. He is a graduate of North Canton Hoover High School, Ohio, and the U.S. Air Force Academy, and is employed by the U.S. Air Force.

Following their wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the newlyweds reside in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

\ Taylor-Hurley

Zandra D. Hurley and Dwain S. Taylor were married July 2, 1994, at the Homeplace Restaurant Gazebo with Rev. Lorraine Taylor officiating. The reception was held at Grace Assembly of God Church. The maid of honor was Reco Capaldo, friend of bride. The best man was Mark Taylor, brother of groom. The bride is the daughter of Ms. Edwina Brown of Salem and Robert Hurley of Sophia, N. C. The groom is the son of Melvin and Doris Taylor of Catawba. The newlyweds will live in Catawba after a wedding trip to Tennessee.

\ Wankel-Sparger

Jennifer Ann Sparger of Salem, Va., and Andrew Meade Wankel of Kingsport, Tenn., were united in marriage on July 16, 1994, by the Reverend David St. Clair. The wedding took place at 2:00 p.m. at the Memorial Chapel of Emory & Henry College in Emory, Va. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. H. Merritt Sparger, Jr., of Salem. The groom is the son of Mrs. Ellen C. Wankel of Kingsport, Tenn., and Mr. Bruce A. Wankel of Abingdon, Va.

Jennifer was escorted by her father and presented in marriage by her parents. The maid of honor was Wendy Jones of Salem, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Heather Conley of Moneta, Va., Amy Croft of Abingdon, Va., Kelly Espy of Aiken, S. C., and Kim Varney of Salem, all friends of the bride.

Bruce Wankel, father of the groom, served as best man. Mark Wankel of Kingsport, brother of the groom, and Jonathan Sparger of Salem, brother of the bride, were groomsmen, as well as, Chris Armstrong of Kingsport, Robert Grubb of Richmond, Chad Hill of Kingsport, and Shawn Swisher of Staunton, all friends of the groom.

The soloist, Amy Baldwin, friend of the bride and groom, was accompanied by organist, Mrs. Anita Coulthard. Scriptures were read by Mr. John Sparger and Mr. Denton Staley, uncles of the bride.

Jennifer wore a delicate diamond and pearl necklace that was worn by Andy's mother and maternal grandmother in their wedding, and her bouquet consisted of roses grown by her paternal grandmother. She gave Andy the wedding ring that be longed to her paternal grandfather.

Amory Sparger was the register attendant, and Jessica Staley distributed the wedding programs. Both are cousins of the bride.

A reception was held after the ceremony at the Greenway Haven in Abingdon.

Jennifer is the granddaughter of Mrs. Virginia B. Grim of Bluefield, Va., the late Charles Frazier Grim, Jr., Mrs. Nancy W. Sparger of Marion, Va., and the late Mr. Haywood Merritt Sparger. Andy is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Campbell of Little Rock, Ark., and Dr. and Mrs. Ronald A. Wankel of Kingsport.

Jennifer and Andy are both 1994 graduates of Emory & Henry College. After a wedding trip to Topsail Island, N. C., they will reside in Kingsport.

\ Wilson-Cox

Melissa Ann Cox and Michael Eugene Wilson were married Saturday, July 16, 1994, in an outdoor ceremony at Little River in Floyd County. The Rev. Louis Weaver, minister of Bethel United Methodist Church, officiated.

The double-ring ceremony was followed by a reception-dinner adjacent to the wedding site.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. Richard R. Cox of Dublin and Ms. Lois T. Cox of Radford. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Larry E. Wilson of Christiansburg.

The bride's grandparents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Dallas V. Thompson of Radford, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Cox of Indian Valley. The groom's grandparents are Mrs. Rachel Collins and Mrs. Margaret Wilson and the late Mr. Collins and Mr. Wilson.

The bride's maid of honor was Patty Sutphin of Myrtle Beach, S.C. Rachel Verrier of Blacksburg and Donna Pickett of Shawsville, were the bridesmaids. They are all friends of the bride.

The bridegroom's best man was Richard Adams of Blacksburg, friend of the groom. The groomsmen were Jerry Wilson, brother of the groom, of Christiansburg; and Randall Fritz of Christiansburg, friend of the groom.

The flowergirl was Kimberly Carden, cousin of the groom, of Christiansburg. The ring bearer was Jeremy Pickett of Shawsville, friend of the bride. The guestbook was attended by Tina Affendakes, friend of the bride.

Melissa was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a white satin and tulle gown with a fitted Italian beaded lace bodice. The skirt, train and veil had matching Italian beaded lace. She carried a cascading bouquet of white roses, orchids, neddlepoint ivy and accented with pearls.

After a wedding trip to Jamaica the couple will reside in Christiansburg.
