2 ARRESTED IN BEDFORD ROBBERY

The Bedford police have arrested a North Carolina man and a Roanoke juvenile in the armed robbery of two Bedford residents at a garage in the city.

Anthony Donnel Dobbins, 25, of Statesville, N.C., and a 17-year-old male were each charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of using a firearm in commission of a felony. Dobbins is wanted in North Carolina for parole violations.

The suspects allegedly held up two Bedford men at gunpoint Friday afternoon at a private automotive garage in the 900 block of Orange Street and took cash from the victims' wallets .

Dobbins and the juvenile were arrested Friday near Virginia 799 in a cooperative effort by Bedford County sheriff's deputies, State Police troopers and an Alcoholic Beverage Control Department agent. The Bedford police said they found the suspects through telephone tips from local residents.

The suspects were on foot. One was arrested inside a house off Virginia 799, and the other was found hiding on the porch of another house nearby.
