The caller lures women into conversation, then begins to make threats and obscene comments, according to police.
After the most recent spate of calls on Friday, the police are asking recipients of the calls to hang up immediately, then notify police - ``instead of staying on the phone and listening,'' said Sgt. Harrison Vaughan. Women are asked to pay attention to the caller's ``voice, any background noise, his accent, [and] any other quirks that may help in his identification and location,'' according to a police statement.
The Blacksburg police can be reached at 961-1150.
