President Dennis Ammons and chief financial officer Gene Matthews will relocate but will maintain part-time offices in Roanoke, said Bill Foster, vice president for administration.
Foster said he had the option of moving but chose to stay in Roanoke.
"I'll still have to spend half of my time in High Point," he said.
For the past three years, Singer has had its sales and marketing offices in its showroom in the International Home Furnishings Center in High Point. It has leased 12,000 square feet in another High Point building and will move its executive offices there and expand the showroom, Foster said.
The move makes the top officials more accessible to buyers for retailers who are shopping the North Carolina wholesale market. It also increases the company's profile in High Point, which is home to the world's largest furniture market, Foster said. Ammons was traveling Monday and could not be reached for comment.
There will be 20 people in the High Point office, including two new employees and some personnel relocating from Lenoir, N.C., where Singer also has manufacturing facilities. Singer employs 2,400 workers at all its facilities.
Singer makes wood bedroom and dining room furniture.
