BEASLEY, Madeline Handy, 73, of Stuart, died Monday, July 25, 1994. A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday in the Moody Funeral Home Chapel.

CHRISMAN, Allen Harless, 96, of Chr isman Mill Road, Christiansburg, died Tuesday, July 26, 1994 at his home. He retired from the Norfolk and Western Railroad as an engineer after 48 years of service. Mr. Chrisman was a member of McDaniel Lodge #86 A.F. & A.M. for over 70 years and was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clay and Ida Silvers Chrisman and three brothers, Harry D. Chrisman, Halsey Elbert Chrisman, Sr. and Haven E. ""Doc"" Chrisman. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Evelyn C. Chrisman; nieces and nephews, Frances and Cereal Duncan, Virginia Chrisman Giles, all of Christiansburg and Halsey Chrisman, Jr., of Glenvar. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday from the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Bobby Sutphin and Rev. Paul Parker, with burial in Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Edgemont Christian Church, 2289 Edgemont Rd., Christiansburg, Va. 24073 or the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, Box 176, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. COLEMAN, Thelma Greene, 77, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, July 26, 1994. She was a member of Crystal Spring Baptist Church and was retired from South Roanoke Nursing Home. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Felix Roilgen, Lovettsville, Va.; nieces, Gloria Spradlin, Roanoke, Betty Kiser, Lincolnton, NC. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel 10 a.m. Friday, July 29, 1994, with the Rev. Harry E. Leland officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park. FLEEMAN, Bernice Thorne, 60, of Route 1, Narrows, Va., died Tuesday evening, July 26, 1994, in the Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg, Va. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on May 15, 1934, and was the daughter of Mrs. Ethel Wilkinson Thorne of Narrows, Va. and the late Clarence Thorne. She was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold L. Thorne of Narrows, Va. and two sisters, Betty T. Farmer of Bristol, Tenn. and Janice T. Ratcliffe, Pearisburg, Va. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Emmett J. Fleeman of Narrows, Va.; sons, Ronald L. Fleeman, Narrows, Va. and Marty A. Fleeman of Dublin, Va.; a daughter, Rhonda F . Perkins, Narrows, Va.; brothers, Lawrence, Aubrey, Melvin, Rocky Thorne all of Narrows, Va.; a sister, Patricia Barnett, Narrows, Va.; five grandchildren. The family requests that their many friends and neighbors be with them in a funeral service which will be conducted Friday afternoon in the chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows, Va. at 2 p.m. with Rev. Walter Blankenship and Rev. Tom Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemtery in Narrows, Va. there will be a private visitation at Riffe's in Narrows for the family only. GARCIA, Manuel Jr. 39, of Buchanan, died Tuesday, July 26, 1994. He is survived by three daughters, Valerie Marie Garcia, Pamela L. Garcia, and Jessica L. Garcia, all of Rocky Mount; parents, Manuel and Hazel Mullins Garcia, Buchanan; sister, Regina Abernathy , Graham, N.C.; special friend, Susan Hamey and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is survived by his father, Albert Harbor, Roanoke; sisters, Doris Nance, Pamela Larry, Paulette Dickerson, all of Roanoke, and two sisters of Patterson, N.J.; four brothers, Willie Ware, Clarence Ware, Ronnie Ware, Allen Ware, all of Roanoke; and a host of nieces and nephews. JOHNSON, Marilynn Nesbitt, 68, of Roanoke, formerly of Wheeling, West Va., died Wednesday, July 27, 1994, at her residence. She was born in Wheeling, West Va. on February 14, 1926, a daughter of the late C.B. Nesbitt and Angelia Facine Nesbitt. Marilynn was educated at Wheeling High School, West Virginia University, Eastern Carolina College at Wilson, N.C. and the Pittsburg Art Institute. She was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Taylor. She is survived by two sons, Lee Venable Johnson, Lexington, Ky., Todd Thayer Johnson, Roanoke; one aunt, Myra Boyd, Cleveland, Ohio; one sister, Cynthia Miechler, Boca Raton, Fla.; three nieces, Nancy Taylor, Laguna Beach, Calif., Leslie and tracy Miechler, Boca Raton, Fla.; three nephews, Lee Taylor, Orlando, Fla., Coleman Taylor, Coco Beach, Fla., Chip Miecher, Boca Raton, Fla.; one grandson, Justin Johnson, Charleston, West Va. JONES, Louise McGinnis, 75, of Radford, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 1994, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse A. Jones; son, Earnest W. Jones and daughter, Connie J. Whitt. Mrs. Jones was the Cafeteria Manager at McHarg Elementary School. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Radford. Surviving is two grandson, Calvin Curtis Whitt II and his wife, Candy S. He was a member of the Lynchburg Moose Lodge #715 since 1974. SPRAKER, Fred D. Jr., (``Cannon Ball''), 66, of Rt. 2, Vinton, died Wednesday, July 27, 1994. Mr. Spraker was retired from Singer Furniture Company. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Pugh Spraker, in 1992. Surviving are his wife, Lovelene L. STAFFORD, Edna Vaughn, 65, of 2093 Twin Oakes Ave., Pulaski, died Wednesday, July 27, 1994, in Lewis-Gale Hospital, Salem. Born in Pulaski County, May 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Floyd Vaughn and Dessie Vaughn. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph F. Vaughn Jr., James W. Vaughn and Donald Tipton Vaughn. She served for 40 years as Deputy Treasurer in the Pulaski County Treasurer's Office. She is survived by her husband, Charles Draper Stafford; three sons, Stephen M. Stafford, Radford, David K. Stafford, Greenville, S.C., Charles Keith Stafford, Pulaski; one brother, V. E. (``Jack'') Vaughn, Newbern; one sister, Dorothy Vaughn, Lynchburg; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Patrick Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. STANLEY, Ruth Robertson, 88, of Bacova, died Tuesday, July 26, 1994 at the Springs Nursing Center in Hot Springs. She was born January 30, 1906, the daughter of the late Stephen A. and Laura Turner Robertson. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Shirel M. Stanley. She was formerly employed by The Virginia Hot Springs Company. She was a member of the Chimney Run Church of the Brethren. She is survived by two sons; Bobbie Moore Stanley, of Roanoke, Hugh C. Stanley, of Hot Springs; one sister, Lottie Stinnett, of Roanoke. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Friday, July 29, at McLaughlin Funeral home in Hot Springs, with the Rev. STRICKLAND, Doris J., 73, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 1994 in a local hospital. She was the widow of Warren G. Strickland. Mrs. Strickland retired from the Botetourt County School System. She served as a volunteer at Community Hospital and was a member of Peters Creek Church of the Brethren. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Judy C. and Greg Jamison, Atlanta, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Warren P. and Sue Strickland, Roanoke; brother, Donald Jordan, Fort Wayne, Ind.; sister, Betty Jordan, Roanoke. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the SPCA. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday at Peters Creek Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Paris E. Bain. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
