Need proof? Just watch television or head to the local multiplex this fall and winter.
Here are a few guests you're likely to spot:
Frank Langella, who appeared uncredited as Minister Jaro in three episodes of ``Deep Space Nine,'' joins Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny DeVito and Emma Thompson in ``Junior,'' a big holiday release in which Schwarzenegger gets pregnant.
William Windom, who maneuvered his shuttlecraft directly into ``The Doomsday Machine'' in the ``Trek''-classic episode of the same name, appears with Sir Richard Attenborough in another high-profile holiday film, the remake of ``Miracle on 34th Street.''
One-time ``Alien Nation'' stars Michelle Scarabelli and Eric Pierpoint - who appeared, respectively, in the ``Next Gen'' episodes ``In Theory'' and ``Liaisons'' - re-create their popular ``A.N.'' roles for ``Alien Nation: Dark Horizon,'' a telemovie that will air on Fox this fall.
Ray Walston, a veteran sci-fi actor who appeared as Picard's (Patrick Stewart) mentor Boothby on ``Next Gen,'' graduates from recurring role to series regular on the CBS drama ``Picket Fences.'' He plays the judge.
A ``Trek'' guest's work is never done. You'll also be able to see ``Trek'' actors in several films, now in production, that will be released next year:
John Larroquette, who played a Klingon in ``Trek III'' (1984), co-stars with Macaulay Culkin in ``Richie Rich,'' based on the comic-book character.
Christopher Plummer, who chewed the scenery as the Gen. Chang (the Klingon with an eye patch) in ``Trek VI'' (1991) and can currently be seen in ``Wolf,'' stars with Kathy Bates and Jennifer Jason Leigh in ``Dolores Claiborne,'' based on the Stephen King novel.
Tony Todd, the Klingon Kurn of ``Next Gen,'' returns to the big screen to reprise his bogeyman role in ``Candyman II.''
Harris Yulin, so wonderful as a sympathetic Cardassian in perhaps the finest ``DS9'' episode, ``Duet,'' joins Al Franken for ``Stuart Smalley,'' based on a Franken ``Saturday Night Live'' skit.
``Demon Knight,'' a ``Tales From the Crypt'' feature film, spotlights two ``Trek'' veterans: Brenda Bakke and John Schuck.
Bakke guest-starred as the lovely Rivan in the first-season ``Next Gen'' episode ``Justice'' and appeared last year in the film ``Gunmen'' with Patrick Stewart.
Schuck played a Klingon ambassador in ``Trek IV'' (1986) and ``Trek VI'' and guest-starred as a Cardassian on the ``DS9'' episode ``The Maquis, Part II.''
Trek specs
Major Kira and Worf teaming to get a job done? Picard and Odo discussing space-station security? Anything will be possible when DC Comics and Malibu Comics, in an unusual joint venture, produce a series of comics featuring the ``Next Gen'' and ``Deep Space Nine'' crews working together for the first time. The publishers will take turns printing their own versions of each comic, with the first due in October (from Malibu), the second in November (from DC). ... Applause offers a variety of limited-edition ``DS9'' and ``Next Gen'' merchandise ranging from 9-inch-tall Sisko, Quark, Odo and Kira vinyl figures (about $10 each) to mugs in the shape of Quark, Kirk, Spock and Data ($15 each). All available at toy stores and sci-fi specialty shops nationwide. ... Denise Crosby and Armin Shimerman recently finished shooting ``Dream Man,'' an independent feature that may go direct to video via Republic Pictures Home Video. ... On the ``Trek'' birthday front, Cirroc Lofton turns 16 on Aug. 7, while Jane Wyatt turns 83 on Aug. 12. Jonathan Frakes and Diana Muldaur both celebrate their big day Aug. 19, the same day Gene Roddenberry would have turned 73.
